Surprise Anniversary Get-Away To Park City

On September 13th 2014 Adam and I had our 12 year wedding Anniversary.  Unfortunately Adam was away working in India for the big occasion so it became necessary to postpone our celebrating for a bit.  That ended up being a good thing though because I was still feeling so sick from my pregnancy.  Luckily by November the nausea had started to ease up a little (giving me a few more good hours in the day) and so Adam started making some secret plans to steal me away for a night!  I love how romantic he always is and how well he loves me!
This year he surprised me with an overnight stay up in Park City, Utah!  Once again he arranged everything from the babysitters, to the hotel, and restaurant and didn’t tell me about any of it until the day we were supposed to go! What a man! He had me pack a bag and then instructed me to drop the kids at his parents home after school (Thanks Mum and Smurf) and then he directed me to Adobe where I was able to pick him up from work a little early.  Then from there we headed up to park city. It was supposed to snow on the way up, but luckily we missed the jist of the storm and didn’t see flakes until we actually were IN Park City!  We were grateful to have good roads!
We checked into our hotel which was right in downtown Park City (and I forget the name of it), where we dropped off our luggage. Then we decided to head out for dinner at a nearby Steak house! The meal was ridiculously expensive but in a great location in a fancy shmancy restaurant and the food was good so it made it a special night.  Adam even found a buy one get one free coupon as well so that was nice!
Afterwards we walked around Park City for awhile, but because I hadn’t brought a hat and gloves I got cold very quickly and so our walk was pretty short. 🙂 So back to the hotel we went where we thought a nice romantic dip in the pool would be nice.  And boy was it!  We were the only two in the heated pool and we swam laps while the snow gently fell from the sky! It was pretty awesome!
We even did a little hot tubing seeing as the snow was cooling down the hot water making it more like bath water.  And we enjoyed snuggling and reminiscing and having the whole place all to ourselves!

That rest of the night we spent relaxing in our room, watching movies and playing games, and then the next morning we slept in and took our time getting out of bed.  We finally decided to take off just before check out time to get some breakfast.  At first we were going to go and try to find a restaurant, but we ended up deciding to just to pick up some fruit, pastries, and hot chocolate at the local grocery store to eat on our way down the mountain to give us more “play time” before we needed to pick up the kids.

So after getting breakfast we headed out and drove through Provo Canyon and then hit up a movie in Orem (Interstellar) on our way home.  We then finished off our date with burgers, fries, and shakes at Five Guys!  Yum!

Sure was a wonderful day spent with my honey love munchkin buns!  How lucky I have been to be married to this incredible man for 12 years!  Adam still is my everything and brings so much joy and happiness to my life, and I love him more now than I ever did 12 years ago when we were first married.  Adam is the best thing to have happened to me, and truly is my perfect match.  He makes me want to be a better woman, and has loved me and tolerated my imperfections and weaknesses so well.  I just love him to the moon and back!  Thanks for a wonderful get-away my darlin’ and for being my very best friend in the whole world!  Love you!
