After our fun cable car trip to the top of Gwongeumseong we were all pretty hungry and ready for some lunch, so we checked out our park maps and found a little Korean restaurant nearby to dine at.
Adam ordered us some food and while we were eating we had the nicest group of Korean Grandma and Grandpa’s come over to talk to us. They had overheard Adam ordering our meal in near perfect Korean and they were curious how he had learned to speak so well. He told them about his time here as a missionary for two years and how he taught about Christ, and they were so impressed and told them they were Christian too and wanted to thank him for his service by treating our kids to some ice cream! They were so sweet. We thought they would just go and buy some ice cream for the kids, but they actually ended up giving each of the kids their own Korean money! Not only that, but each of the kids got 10,000 Won, which is the equivalent of $10 American dollars! Holy Shnickees! What amazing and generous people! The kids as you can imagine were ecstatic and loved having some extra spending money during our time in Korea! Once again, I was just blown away with the kindness of the Korean people! They just love kids and are so friendly, warm, and gracious.
We made sure to get a picture with our new friends who had been so kind to remember them as well!
Because we’d already done a hike earlier, and because it was nearing Adalynn’s nap time, she had a bit of a harder time wanting to walk on her own which meant that she got carried quite a lot. Adam did most of the carrying, but occasionally needed a break, so cute little Branson offered to take her for him. He was so cute trying to carry her, but only lasted about 1-2 minutes because she really is quite heavy. She seemed to love it though and both of them were pretty much in giggles the whole time!
We ended up deciding to hike up to Biryeong Falls which we had heard was quite beautiful, but were pleasantly surprised when almost every few minutes along the way another waterfall would emerge. They were all over as we hiked. So dang pretty!
And here is Biryeong! We expected it to be MUCH bigger – but it was still a lovely waterfall and we had a good time stopping for snacks and to soak our feet for a bit. We also met two girls who were traveling from Europe and had fun hearing about their adventures all over the world. They were kind enough to take these next two family pictures for us!
After an hour or so of playing we again started to head down the mountain. Its amazing the different views you see going the opposite direction.
Taking turns carrying Adalynn again. Each of the kids including Dawson all wanted a turn!
We just had to make sure the littler kids had some help holding Ady up!
So how did we feel about our day in Seoraksan park hiking around?
Two thumbs up for me….
And BIG smiles from Adam! What a beautiful and magical place Korea is!
