Out of all the beaches we visited in Thailand I think I would have to say that the beach in this post was my favorite. It truly was just an absolutely perfect place to spend the afternoon and we all LOVED that we had it all to ourselves. Not another person around for miles! Our boat driver Dee stopped on this beach for lunch (Fried rice with shrimp) and told us to take all the time that we wanted. We held him true to that and spent several hours just playing in the water, exploring the cave and lagoon nearby, swinging on log swings, and just enjoying the beautiful views. I don’t think any of us ever wanted to leave!
The entrance to the lagoon which was next to the beach we were camped out at.
I know the beach doesn’t look like much from this picture, but it was truly a magical place for us and was the perfect spot for our little family to spend the afternoon.
These next pictures are taken from the beach once we landed. Can you believe that view?
The boys immediately put on their floaties and life jackets and headed out in the water.
I opted to go and do some exploring and picture taking. I literally could not STOP from snapping pictures. I had never seen such a beautiful beach before!
There was even this large cave right next to the rocks and in a shallow area of the water that you could go and explore. So fun!
Lots of Stalactites!
“I’m on a private beach in Thailand” I scream excitedly! “Best day ever!!!”
The only downfall of our time on the beach was that Brans had a pretty nasty run in with a tree branch. Dawson had started throwing sand at Brans, so Brans turned his head suddenly to dodge the sand, and ended up running his face right into a neighboring tree branch. Poor fella. We were all just very grateful it hadn’t gotten his actual eye, and luckily the bleeding stopped very quickly.
You can see that Brans didn’t let his hurt eye stop him for long. He was soon out playing again and loved helping “bring in” the boat when it was time to go.
We even found a fun dead jelly fish on the beach to play with and jiggle. The kids and Jess got such a kick out of it.
Before leaving the beach though we did our traditional “clean up” of the area where we try to always leave wherever we are better than we found it. We ended up filling up two huge shopping bags full of garbage and had a contest to see who could find the most unusual piece of garbage. I think I won with a ladies purse and a tube of lipstick! 🙂
One last group picture before we left our afternoon paradise!
Then we were off to go and tour the mangrove Lagoon!
Ady was stylin’ in Mommy’s shades!
Jess teaching Ady how to do a thumbs up! So cute!
The entrance to the lagoon!
We could not get over how green the water was or how beautiful the lagoon was. My goodness did our Heavenly Father create some beautiful things!
Dee our driver! Such a nice guy!
And here are the mangrove trees. Apparently they are one of the only trees that can live in salt water.
More shots from inside the lagoon.
From there we started heading home, but not before a storm started rolling in and the seas got a little rough. We still had a great time though and enjoyed the bumpy ride back home.
The storm even helped rock a few of the kids to sleep!
Dee was so awesome too and instead of taking us to the pier where we thought we’d need to take a tuk tuk back to our beach house, he just drove around the island a little longer and dropped us off right at our front door! Now that is good service! And we made sure to give him a big tip!
We loved seeing our beach house from the “back.”
This definitely counted as one of our “best day’s ever” in Thailand! Oh what a beautiful world we live in!
