Lunch with the Kids, Shopping, and an Adobe Team Dinner

Since finding American food ingredients here in India can be quite difficult and since most of it is very expensive, we’ve actually found that it is cheaper to just eat out when we want American food than to try to make the same dishes at home. That means that we are going out to eat quite a bit, but we all agree that it is SO nice not having a big mess to clean up, dishes to do, or tables to wipe down.  There are perks to everything, right? 🙂
That also means that we have tried out a LOT of restaurants while living here in India, and that we are always on the search for new better ones.  This particular day I had googled American food in our area of Koramangala and had a website called zomato.com come up with all sorts of good places to eat with ratings too!  So we arranged for our driver to take us to one of the top recommended places to eat!  And boy oh boy did we find a winner.  The name of the place was called Truffles Ice and Spice and when we saw the menu, we were pretty much in heaven.  There were things like pancakes, french toast, blt’s, club sandwiches, hamburgers, a great Italian section, and appetizers that we knew the names of!  We were all just so thrilled. But that wasn’t even the best part.  They also had a DESSERT menu as well with things like Lava cake, triple chocolate cake, truffles, Hotch Potch, and ice cream sundae’s to make an ice cream lovers mouth water.  It was a place we wanted to go back to over and over just so we could try everything on the menu.  It was all just so good!  Unfortunately the first time we went Adam had meetings he had to be too, so he missed out on our new found place, but no need to fear…we just took him back the next week! 🙂 ha ha!

Not sure why Dawson is crying in this one, but I think it was because he didn’t think I ordered what he wanted.  Silly boy!

After lunch Naveen and I dropped the kids off at their day care place and then went and did a little shopping to try to find some American items.  We stopped by a street market hoping to find some green and yellow zucchini – and surprisingly enough, they had it!  Yay!  We were even more excited when we found American PEACHES too!  Below I am showing off the size of an Indian pineapple.  They are just so cute!

We also walked through the meat section of the market as well.  These ducks aren’t for decorating your back yard ponds with people.  They are for dinner tonight!
I had to laugh when I saw this sign.  Red Dot Sale.  So Indian!  So clever! 🙂

While Naveen and I were out shopping one of the things on our to do list was to find some fun Indian Kurta’s (shirts) for me and the kids to take back to the U.S.  And while searching we just happened to come upon a fancier dress that would work great for a big dinner party Adam’s boss was throwing that night for the entire Indian team that I had been invited to, so it worked out pretty perfectly.

Adam and I ended up asking our driver Naveen to watch the kids for us for a few hours by taking them out to dinner nearby so we could go to the dinner party, but unfortunately we ended up going to a completely wrong restaurant about 30 minutes away, which meant that we were at least 30 minutes late to the right restaurant.  ha ha!  The good news though is that we were close to home, so we just ended up having Naveen pick up a pizza for the kids and take it back to our apartment to do a movie night.  Score!

The dinner party was nice though and it was great to be able to meet more of the wonderful men Adam has been able to work with while here in India!

The restaurant was at the Forum Mall just a block away from our house and was actually inside an old train – which made for a very fun atmosphere.  Here I a standing with the train director!  So fun!

We sure are enjoying making so many new friends here in India!
