Nandi Hills Tree House Park & The Only Place Restaurant

As we were heading down from the top of Nandi Hills we drove past these awesome looking tree houses. We at first thought that maybe people rented these houses to stay for the night or that they were used for the military, but after further investigation we realized that the tree houses were part of a big childrens play park. So cool!  And the best part?  They were free!  I so do love India!  So many adventures at every turn.  We of course decided to stop and play awhile!

Family funny faces!

It was here in the park that I had a monkey actually come and try to steal my mango juice that luckily was in a bottle. I luckily saw him coming and had a tight grip on my bottle so he didn’t get away with it, but it scared the kids and I enough that we spent the rest of our time in the park with sticks in our hands in case any more monkeys decided to get aggressive.  They steered clear of us from that time forward though and all was well. But it gave us the opportunity to have a great discussion with the kids about self defense and whether or not is is every okay to hurt someone.

Then it was time to head back down the mountain.  We loved the views as we went down, but unfortunately they didn’t agree with everyone and poor Adalynn ended up getting super car sick on the way down on the twisty roads and threw up in the car (there were 38 switch backs).  Poor little thing.

Our last stop of the day was to a restaurant the Elders told us about called “The Only Place” where you can get a REAL American burger and other very American foods.  We ended up getting a roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes, an egg salad sandwich, grilled cheese sandwich, burger and fries, and BBQ chicken with veggies and mashed potatoes.  Yum!  Then we had chocolate cake and a truffle for dessert.  Yummy yum yum!  It was a perfect ending for our fun little get-away!
