California Pizza Kitchen, Visiting Temples, Spaghetti Girl, & an Early Christmas!

Since we arrived here in India we have for the most part been eating out once a day.  We send over 2 big containers of our American goods that we THOUGHT would arrive in India around the same time we did, but as it turned out we didn’t end up getting our shipment for more than 2 weeks.  And cooking without pots and pans, utensils, and simple things like potato peelers and sharp knives can be a little tricky!  But did I mind eating out everyday one little bit?  Heck no!  It was heaven sent for me and now I don’t know that I’ll ever go back! ha ha!  Especially when food in India is SO CHEAP!
One of the rules I made with Adam too is that the kids and I only want to eat Indian food ONE time a day.  We usually have Indian food for breakfast so for lunch we are usually wanting something else.  Thai food, Chineese, American, Korean, Italian, etc.  This particular day we decided to try out the California Pizza Kitchen which we’ve passed about 100 different times since arriving.  And although the pizza wasn’t nearly as good as it is in the states, we certainly had no reason to complain about it!  It was great!

We had to laugh because as we were eating our waiters discovered that we had lots of flies near our window and they asked if we wanted to move. We already had all our food and were situated with all the kids, so we told them it was okay and we’d just shoo them away, but our waiters insisted on killing all the flies as we were eating, so they were usually reaching behind the kids backs near the windows to “electrocute” the flies with their zapper!  Only in India!  And definitely something to remember!
We also had to laugh when we looked across the street to see this awesome window display!  I so love it here and all the different things we see everyday!

After lunch we dropped Adam off at home and then the kids and I ran some errands.  We got to see some cool temples on the way and then we stopped at one that looked particularly fun.  The kids love going to see these temples and love learning about them from our driver Naveen.  We even all got the dot between our forehead at one of them.  But the kids instantly rubbed them all off.

I loved all the details and colors of this temple.  So pretty!

Sporting one of my Indian dresses I picked up last time I was here.

Later that evening I made the kids spaghetti for dinner AFTER getting Adalynn all ready for bed (we had just gone swimming so it made more sense to put her in PJ’s since it was close to bedtime).  Unfortunately our bibs hadn’t arrived in our shipment by then so I had to laugh when at the end of dinner she looked like THIS! I probably should have kept her in her swimsuit a few minutes longer.  She would have been much easier to hose down that way! 😉

The best part of the day though came that evening fairly late (around 8:00 pm) when we received the news that our SHIPMENT had arrived.  We had to go and get special permission from the apartment complex manager to allow the big truck in carrying our goods (which was more difficult than it needed to be) but we eventually were able to get the truck in and our goods up to our apartment.  Branson went outside to take some pictures of the truck with all our stuff.  He was soooo excited!

And I wasn’t too surprised to find a couple “selfies” of him when I downloaded my pictures.
Its becoming the new norm. 🙂

When the men came up with our boxes and started unpacking though the real fun began and it seriously was like CHRISTMAS all over again!  The kids were just beaming as their favorite blankets, pillows, toys, bikes, scooters, chairs, clothes, shoes, and swimming stuff was unloaded.  Just look at those smiles!  They were in HEAVEN!!!!  I was pretty excited too and happy to have all my own kitchen gear and PILLOWS!  Oh how I had missed them!

The kids ended up riding their bikes, scooters, and wiggle cars all over the apartment after the men left and I couldn’t get them to even think about going to bed until after 10:30 pm. We were all just so excited (and I was too busy trying to unpack everything to stop and put them to bed).  They loved it though and we are all so very happy to finally have our stuff from home here in India.

Adalynn excited to have her favorite little camping chair!
