This last week Adam and the kids and I had an open morning so we thought it would be fun to go and see the gardens at Lalbagh Park. We have actually been to this park once before but it was on a day I left my camera at home charging so I didn’t get any pictures. So this was my “picture taking day” to capture all the beautiful flowers and trees I’d missed the first time around. I am so in love with this park! Just see for yourself. Everything here in India is just so colorful and gorgeous!
Even the bamboo huts are colored in bright colors!
Work here in India is done so differently than in the United States. The first man would dig and separate the dirt, while the 2nd man loaded it up into the basket you see on the ground. Then the third man would pick it up and put it on his head to take to the man waiting by the fence, who would take it from that mans head and carry it to another one repeating the process until the dirt got to where it needed to go. Slow and painful work out in the hot sun, but I’m sure these men are just grateful to have a job.
A grove of my all time favorite trees here in India! Love their happy colors!
As we walked we picked up garbage and would put it in these bins around the park. It was a great service project for the day!
The park has some AMAZING trees to climb!
And there is a river next to the park to add to the gardens beauty!
We loved discovering a Jack fruit tree. You can’t tell really well from this picture but these Jack fruit were HUGE! About the size of 3 footballs I’d say, and bigger than a basketball.
This was my first time seeing this pink tree, and I instantly fell in love! Gorgeous!
The gardens even had its own little nursery. I’m not sure if they sell these plants or use them to plant all over the gardens each year. There sure were a lot of them though.
And what Indian park wouldn’t be complete without a temple?
And I LOVE the amazing rock structure that its on. India is just so diverse!
We sure are enjoying ourselves here in India! 🙂
