While sitting in the hot tub – another family came to the pool and we ended up discovering that she and Adam were from the same city (Smithfield) and knew each other and my sister in law Erin. AND that the girls sister and Adam had dated a few times after Ad’s mission (or maybe before, I forget). In any case, it was fun to talk with her and hear stories about Adam’s dating days and catch her up on Erin and Cam in Washington. What a small world!
I know this pic is blurry, but it kind of melts my heart. I love how much fun these boys have with each other and that they are such great friends!
One thing that really SCARED the bageebers out of me though that I want to rememer to remind myself to ALWAYS be alert happened while we were playing in the hot tub. Adalynn was enjoying walking along the seat of the hot tub (where the water came up to her tummy) and was always within arms reach, but at one point I turned my back to her to help Dawson and she fell in and I didn’t even see it or hear it! Luckily I was RIGHT there, and turned back to see her struggling in the water and was able to grab her and pull her up and out of the water, but we were both SO shooken up over this. I mean I was RIGHT there. Right next to her and it still happened. It was a serious wake up call and left me realizing that I need to be better at ALWAYS being on alert, making sure my kids get in swim lessons EARLY, and to be better prepared with life jackets and floaties until they are good little swimmers. I’m afraid this experience has most likely turned me into one of those overly paranoid Mom’s, but you know what they say, “better safe than sorry.” I was grateful nothing worse happened. I don’t think I could ever have lived with myself it it did. And I feel grateful for the tender mercy that Adalynn was okay and that I turned to see her in time. How grateful I am for a loving Heavenly Father who reminds me daily of the blessings he’s given me and allows me to be a mother to these sweet children. They truly are where my happiness is! đ
