Project Paint

Right after Christmas, Adobe (where Adam works) actually shuts down for a week.  A whole week!  It is absolutely blissful and so nice to have Adam off every year for that time.  Since our plans were to stay home for the break, we decided it was high time to work on some of our back burner projects.  Our first priority? Painting the crown molding Adam and our neighbor Jesse installed clear back in MARCH!
So after moving furniture and taking down wall hangings Adam and I got to work.  He did an initial light coating of white with a roller brush, and then I would come behind him and do the detail work and edges since they are the hardest and since Adam absolutely abhors painting.  ABHORS IT I tell you! He would rather poke himself in the eyes with lemon juice on his fingers than paint.  So we tried to keep his painting to a minimum. Instead he was assigned to help move the drop cloth and ladder for me when needed.
I on the other hand rather enjoyed painting once I got into it.  Its talking myself into it that is the hard part! 🙂  But once I got started, I pretty much couldn’t stop myself from continuing forward doing other things that needed a little TLC.  I ended up repainting lots of the baseboards, repainting walls that needed touch up work, repainting doors on our main floor and then I painted ALL of the baseboards, window sills, and doors upstairs as well.  I even repainted one of our bathroom mirrors as well.  Whooeee did it feel great to finally have all that done.  And now I’m determined to finally paint the upstairs as well now that we’ve been in our house 5 years.  I think its time.  đŸ™‚
Anyway, below are some pictures of the “mess” while we were painting.  I didn’t get any shots of the befores and afters of the crown molding, baseboards, walls, and doors unfortunately, but lets just say that the fresh coat of paint is really making me happy! 🙂
