On Saturday (our last full day in Steamboat Springs) we finally had some nice weather roll in and so we decided to go on a family hike and spend the day in the mountains. So up to Fish Creek falls we went. Unfortunately everything was CLOSED due to the Government shutdown, but if you didn’t mind a bit of a walk, you could park down in the lower parking lot and then just hike into where the trail head started – which we decided to do. We were sure glad we did because the falls were absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!
Family hand prints in the snow!!!
After our fun hike, we explored more of the area just by driving around and were pleased to come across some spectacular sights with beautiful colors. Adam then guided me to another canyon called Rabbit Ears pass where we drove around for a bit up there. When the roads started getting snowy though we turned around and found some other cool canyons to explore as well as a Lake. We love just driving around and finding cool places.
This sign totally cracked us up. We’ve seen pedestrian crossings, deer crossings, and even buggy crossings, but we’ve never seen golf cart crossings. Funny stuff right there.
That night we made spaghetti, salad, and rolls for dinner and then decided to eat it Korean style when our dining room table was taken over by our latest puzzle. The kids thought it was a blast and keep asking if we can eat Korean style again! 🙂
We luckily were able to finish up this Sea Life Dolphin puzzle that evening (which was REALLY tough) and then we started on an easy peasy puzzle which we also finished that night while watching Home Alone II. We also did one other puzzle earlier during our trip which we didn’t think to take a picture of. We sure do love puzzling on cold rainy days though. 🙂
