Back in July we had the wonderful pleasure of having one of our distant relatives – Uncle/Cousin Charles come out to Utah to visit us from Ohio. Most of my siblings and I hadn’t met him – but he’s been a wonderful friend to my Papa and Mom and we all just fell in love with him instantly. A wonderful man with a fascinating and extraordinary life.
To give us all a chance to get to know Cousin Charlie better, my Mom hosted what was supposed to be a Hungarian bacon fry at her house – but ended up being a BBQ since they couldn’t find the right kind of bacon. It was still oodles of fun though and we had fun celebrating the July birthdays that month too which meant CAKE! Brightly colored cupcakes to be more exact, and with that came a lot of fun! Below are some pics of our fun night together.
Trinity showing off her “smurf beard.”
Mia looks pretty innocent in this picture here, but wait until later…
Besty boy cousins!
Dawson decided to mix things up a bit and instead of using cake to decorate himself – he used Jello! Most of the night he went around looking like he’d been shot! And amazingly enough I was able to get all of those red Jello stains out! Thank goodness for good laundry stain removers!
Uncle Charles and a surprise visit from Shannon!
We didn’t know she was in town and it was fun to see her.
My Aunt Nellie and Uncle Joe were able to join us from Idaho as well. Sure was fun having everyone together! It was like a mini family reunion!
My wonderful Mom and Dad
My “Doo Doo Head” little bro!
And another shot of Mia…see told you she wasn’t so innocent! ha ha.
Adalynn got in on the cupcake face painting action as well – except hers wasn’t on purpose. 🙂
Me and my Man. Love him!
Jake and Stacey showed up a bit later. It was great to see them.
Later the cupcake painting turned into more of a cupcake war with Tri and Shannon bound and determined to get Luke. Going from the looks of this picture…I think Luke won the battle!
And…my darling nephew Chasers. Love this kid.
Sure was a fun evening spent with family and getting to know Uncle Charles. He is a wonderful man whom we’ve all come to really love. Thanks for driving out to meet us all Uncle Charles! It was such a fun visit!
