Attractions in Leavenworth

One of our days at our condo we decided to go and visit the town of Leavenworth.  Behind our condo was the entrance to a beautiful riverside walk that would take you right into mainstreet and so after breakfast we headed out for a day of adventure.
At the entrance to the riverside walk we found a playground and of course stopped for a bit to play on that.  Adam teases that we were on a tour of parks while visiting Washington because we saw and played at so many.

This playground was so fun though that even Mom and Dad were entertained.

Then we headed onto the trail and stopped periodically to throw rocks in the river and to read the signs about different plants, animals, and the history of Leavenworth.

Eventually we found our way into town and a nice lady (that the kids befriended at the condo) was kind enough to take a family picture for us.

One of our favorite finds in town was this art show going on.  It was fun to see all the different creative outlets of artists.  Some did photography, some did beautiful paintings, another did woodwork carvings, and some even did metal.  It was interesting to see all the different creations of different artists.  Branson especially loved seeing the artwork, but all the kids had fun.

The main reason Adam wanted to go into town though is because he heard that they did music in the center of town.  Apparently they PLAY music on a big speaker – so it wasn’t exactly what we were expecting, but we had fun none-the-less with some dancing as a family.  We got lots of on-lookers and smiles from passerbyers.

We loved the architecture and Swiss style of all the buildings.  It really was a magical town.

The kids found a miniature Stone Hedge to play with.

We loved the views of the mountains with the golf course and waterfall.

Sure was a fun afternoon in Leavenworth!
