While we were visiting Cam and Erin in Washington a very special girl had her birthday (Erin). She had only a few simple wishes to make her birthday dreams come true. 1) Go out for Korean food, 2) Go Paddle Boarding, 3) have Cam make her a cookie pie and 4) Have crepes for breakfast. Pretty easy right? The best part of the deal is that we got to do all those fun things too! So on Friday afternoon we headed out to Lake Samammish for a day of fun in the sun.
The original plan had been to pick up Smurfs old boat (that Cam has now inherited) and have some fun on the lake along with the paddle boards, but unfortunately when we went to pick up the boat, it wouldn’t work. We tried jump starting it, and the starter had recently been replaced, but it was still a no go. While we waited to see if the boat would work Mal, Brans, and Adam and I all played a game called “Tell Tale” where you make up stories using cards. It was actually pretty fun and the kids loved making up crazy things to make the story more interesting.
Then we headed to the lake where Cam and Erin used a groupon deal they had bought to rent 2 paddle boards for 2 hours. Adam and I stayed on the beach with the kids so Cam and Erin could go and enjoy some birthday paddle board time together and then once they got back – they went out again with Mal, Cole, and Grayson. Then Adam took our boys out for a few minutes (they were scared to death and didn’t make it very far) and then Ad and I went out for a quick ride as well. I thought it was pretty fun, but Adam wasn’t so keen about it. His balance seemed to be a little off that day so he kept falling in repeatedly and had a hard time standing up. So we kept our ride pretty short. We all had a super great time at the lake though and enjoyed some fun in the sun.

Even this little girl went in the water – which is a big deal for her. She even would dip down all the way to her chest. Its the furthest she has been in cold water without freaking out. Yay!
There was lots of playing in the sand.
Cute boys!
This was the view we got to enjoy all afternoon. So pretty.
Cam and Erin ready to try out paddle boarding.
Adam loved having a water fight with the kids! This water blasters were so fun!
Adalynn and I preferred playing in the sand and laying out on our towels.
Cam taking Cole and Gray on a paddle board ride.
Look at Mal go! He’s paddle boarding all by himself while Erin supervises.
The kids got creative later and made their own little lake by digging a big hole and then filling it up with lake water.
Later Adam took the boys out for a paddle board ride. He ended up having to take each one separately because all of them together ended up sinking the board.
Cam cut us up some tasty watermelon for a refreshing treat later. Yum!
Branson giving me his fake mad face. ha ha.
Harry loved burying his toes in the sand.
Watermelon Junkies!
Mom’s turn on the paddle boat. Fun! (Ad and Brans in the background)

Cute Cam, Erin, & Cole.
We finished off the day by letting the kids play at the playground next to the parking lot while we loaded up the cars, changed kids into try clothes, and cleaned up sandy feet.
Sure was a fun day at the beach! Thank you Cam and Erin for sharing your paddle boards with us and planning such an awesome day. We sure love you guys!
