The first evening we arrived in Washington we were pretty bushed from our long drive so we decided to have a night in. Cam and Erin made us a yummy dinner of Chicken Ceasar salad and then we played a game called Money before heading to bed. The boys spent the evening getting reacquainted with their cousins Mal, Cole, and Grayson out in the backyard by jumping on the tramp, playing on the playground, going down the zipline, playing soccer, and a host of other fun activities in Cam and Erins amazing backyard. They loved it.
The next day Cam and Erin took us on a new trail they had heard about to a waterfall called Cherry Creek Falls and I found myself instantly in heaven. The hike was so so beautiful and I loved how green and lush everything was. I just couldn’t help but snap a bazillion pictures along the way.
Unfortunately about half way through our 5 mile hike the kids started running out of steam and we were getting short on time if we wanted to make lunch by a decent hour. So the decision was made to divide into two groups. Half the group headed back with some of the slower walkers while another group booked it as fast as they could to the waterfall. This ended up being a genius idea as both groups got back to the cars within 3 minutes of each other. Saweet. Below are some pictures of our hike and the beautiful falls that welcomed us at the end. Such a GREAT day!
I think we’ve done a pretty good job of multiplying and replenishing the earth – don’t ya think?
I loved these moss covered trees – the perfect backdrop for this pretty lady!
The Dad’s and their babes. So cute!
Cute cousins!
I loved all the wildflowers all over.
Dawson loved picking me flowers. LOVE him. Such a tender heart.
These cuties found this fun tunnel of trees and loved taking silly pictures in them.
We were soooo glad that we had the chance to see Cherry Creek Falls. It was seriously beautiful!
Group #2: The Trail Blazers (who booked it to the waterfall)
Cute cousins!
I bet you can’t guess who group #1 was who tuckered out easily…ha ha. Love this pic!
Thanks so much Cam and Erin for sharing this beautiful place with us. We absolutely LOVED it! 🙂
