Shortly after we got back from our cruise and California trip our wonderful friends and neighbors the Millets invited us to go with them to 7 peaks one morning. We worked extra hard to get our jobs quick and hurried off to join them.
Unfortunately it seemed to be one of those crazy days where everything seemed to go wrong (or maybe I was just really grumpy) but poor Adalynn ended up getting hit by the car door not once but TWICE as her brothers attempted to get in and out of the car resulting in 2 big bumps on her head and a whole lot of crying. Poor girl. Then both Branson and Dawson decided to forego wearing shoes that day (which I didn’t know about until we arrived at 7 peaks). Awesome! So they ended up walking 2.5 blocks on hot cement while I desperately tried to steer them away from glass and rocks. I was SO wishing about then that I’d splurged and upgraded my pass of all passes to include parking! đ
Then later, while at the park, our shade umbrella kept being blown down (and I worried it would hit someone every time it did), and then Adalynn started freaking out when people around her were eating and she wanted to eat too RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT!! (Talk about some serious meltdowns from her) but the icing on the cake was towards the end of our day when we completely LOST HARRY. Brans and Harry had asked to go and ride in the lazy river with Susans two girls Audrey and Myla and I had given them my permission as long as they all stayed together. Apparently though Brans forgot about that little tid bit of information though because when he came back he was ALONE. Not even Myla or Audrey were with him – and Harrison certainly wasn’t either. My stomach was in knots. Then both Myla and Audrey came back – and they too didn’t have Harry with them. I seriously went into panic mode! The good news was that Harry luckily remembered where “home base” was and eventually I spotted his little shorts and saw him looking around to find us. But every moment that he was gone my heart raced in a stupor of panic and I was just sure he was drowning somewhere and dead. Not my best day ever. I was so overwhelmed I secretly vowed never to leave my house again! (That lasted about a day)
Need you think it was all doom and gloom though we really did have a great time and always enjoy any chance we get to spend with the Millets! Susan and I mostly stuck to the kid areas and then later moved to the wave pool where the little kids basically jumped over the waves and played in the super shallow part. Adalynn wasn’t too fond of getting in the water though and mostly just cried every time I sat down in the water because she preferred sitting in her stroller on dry land. Or maybe she just desperately needed a nap….:)
I unfortunately left my phone in the car so I didn’t get any pictures of us at 7 peaks – but I did manage to snatch a few shots of the kids in the car on the way home and when we arrived home. I had 3 of the 4 of them fall asleep so it was a nice quiet drive.
Thank you Millets for inviting us! We sure love you guys!
