The Circus Comes to Payson!

A few weeks ago Adam came home with some discount tickets for a Circus that was coming to Payson.  It had been a few years since we’d taken the kids to the circus so we thought it might be fun for them to re-experience the fun and magic of such an event.  And since it was in Payson…it sort of sealed the deal.
When we showed up to the venue though we were instantly a bit disappointed as it looked like a pretty low quality circus.  Something you might find in someones backyard.  BUT…we ended up being pleasantly surprised as it really was very entertaining.  Not what you would get at Barnum and Bailey Circus but it definitely kept our attention and had us laughing.  The clowns were hilarious (some of the best I’ve seen) and we really were pretty impressed as it appeared to be a Hispanic family that put on the entire production themselves.  The most important part though was that the kids LOVED it and had an incredible time.  Adam ended up deciding not to go into the circus since it was $14 per adult and opted instead to take Adalynn home to bed but the boys and I had a ball and were so glad we went.  Below are some of the fun things we got to see.
The Stage

Waiting for the show to start.  They were literally counting down every minute.

They started out with a dog show – which the boys really liked.

Then they had a young juggler who juggled everything from soccer balls, to bowling pins, to rings.

This girl probably was around 15 or 16 but was really amazing with the hula hoop.  She ended up being able to control over 30 at one time.  Pretty cool.

Then they had a guy that could balance tops on crazy things.

One of my favorite acts was this girl who could contort her body into the most crazy positions.

My very favorite act though was probably this clown.  He danced around in his big tough guy costume and had me giggling like a school girl.

They had a few pictures ops with Sponge Bob, Buzz, and Woody.

This girl was pretty neat too on the swing.

When I asked the boys what their favorite part though was though they all unanimously agreed that it was the fire eating man that could not only eat fire but then blow it out of his mouth.  It was MAGIC to a 7, 5, and 4 year old!

We really had such a great time and were glad we went! Redneck Circus and all. 🙂
