Dawson’s 4th Birthday

On February 2nd my baby boy Dawson turned FOUR years old.  Is it even possible that time has really flown that fast?  I swear I’m going to blink and it will be time to send them away on missions.  Time is just going by way too fast.  Can’t my babies just stay little forever?
Dawsons birthday was a fun one and started out with Coco Roo’s for breakfast (his choice) and opening presents.  Dawson received a big Green Monster Machine for his big present which Dad let him help put together, and then also got some new books, a big box of cuties oranges (because he LOVES them), as well as some monster trucks, and a new lady bug game.  Grandma and Grandpa gave him money and then he also got an Obi-one Star Wars spaceship from Nana and Papa which he hasn’t put down.  In fact its been the most fought over toy in a long time.  All three of the boys think its the coolest thing ever.

Dawson requested a monster truck cake which was one of the easiest for me to make.  I just made a ramp and then mashed up some oreos to make a road and then let Dawson put on his monster trucks and star decorations.  Then he also wanted to do green sprinkles for grass and multi colored sprinkles for flowers.  He had a ball helping me decorate the cake and loved how it turned out.  I ended up making a new frosting recipe from flour and lots of butter too and it turned our super yummy.  Then I used my cousin Fawns tip to substitute the oil for butter and the water for milk which made it oober moist and soft.  Sure was a delicious tasting cake!  Dawsons lunch of choice was hot dogs and cutie oranges.

Then for our evening celebration we took Dawson out for pizza at our favorite local place called “Fat Jacks.”  Grandma and Grandpa joined up with us and we got 2 large pizzas and a side of bread sticks to fill up our hungry tummies!

Next we headed up to Orem to go to Chuck E. Cheese which Dawson has been excited about for a year now (or since his last birthday).  It was funny to watch all the kids because they all had such different personalities when it came to what they wanted to do.  Branson was all about doing the games where he could win lots of tickets (where the purpose of the game is to try to get tickets) and he literally had all of his tokens spent within 10 minutes of arrival – but enjoyed playing on the indoor playground the rest of the time and watching his siblings.  Harry preferred the race car games and shooting games and was very careful with his tokens trying to make them last as long as he could.  Dawson and Adalynn preferred more of the “movement” type rides that would take you for a ride.  We bought 100 tokens to start out with and it took us just about 2 hours to go through them all.  The kids has a ball though and it was fun to see the smiles on their faces!

We stopped at the new WINCO on our wary home and ended Dawsons birthday with him getting totally lost at the grocery store.  Luckily we were able to find him up at the front desk moments before an employee called for us on the intercom and only within about 5 minutes of him wandering off.  Sure got my and Adam’s hearts racing though.  Yikes!  We sure do love our baby boy though and are so grateful he is apart of our family.  He has the best smiles, the best hugs, the best snuggles, and he makes all of us laugh everyday.  We sure love our little Sir-Zaza-lots from infinity and beyond! 🙂
