Sledding at Peteetneet with the Pattersons

The day after Christmas on December 26th Adam and I were pleased to be able to host our good friends Rob and Angie Patterson and their family at our home for one night.  Rob and Adam served in Korea together and were favorite companions but I absolutely ADORE Angie and we all just really get along well.  Even our kids who are basically the EXACT same ages.  In any case we always have a wonderful time when we are with the Pattersons and love every chance we get to see them.
They arrived around 7:30 pm after driving 10 hours from Arizona and we had fun spending the entire evening just catching up with each other.  We were having so much fun infact that we didn’t end up getting to bed until after 1:30 am.  Yikes!
The next morning we all slept in a bit and then had waffles for breakfast.  Then Rob took Adam on a death run out in the snow (Adam calls it that because Rob almost killed him! ha ha) and while they were gone Angie and I did weights upstairs while the kids played.
When they got back we loaded up into our cars and headed over to Peteetneet to do some sledding with our niblets.  Harry didn’t really want to go and within 5 minutes out in the snow he was crying because he was cold.  So he ended up sitting in the car the ENTIRE time we all were sledding.  Branson too didn’t seem very excited at first but he ended up loving it and even wanted to stay and sled more when we gave him the option to go home with me or stay with Adam.  And surprisingly both Dawson and Adalynn really seemed to enjoy themselves as well as long as Mom or Dad went with them.  It certainly was a LOT of fun!

Colden and Branson stuck together like glue the whole day and had a blast going down the hills together.

Rob and Spencer.  We had this tiny little green sled and we would laugh so hard because Rob (who is 6’4 and a big guy) would sit on it and take Spencer down the hill on it.  He couldn’t put his feet down and had to lean back really far but man alive did they get some good distance on that thing!  It was awesome to watch them maneuver and conquer the hill on that little thing! 🙂

After sledding we went back to the house for some hot chocolate and then we made up some chicken bulgogi (Korean dish) and steamed vegetables for lunch.  Then we played a few games of spot it, took some showers, and said our goodbyes. We sure had a great time with the Pattersons though and can’t wait for the next time we get together!  Love you guys!
