Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we made a big Prime Rib dinner with shrimp cocktail, cheesy potatoes, mashed potatoes, veggies, bread, fruit and dip, and our traditional grape juice mixed with sprite drink.  We invited our widow neighbor Gloria Perry over to join us and we had a great time getting to know more about her life in New York before she moved here.
After dinner the kids and I performed a live Nativity while Adam read us the story of Christs birth in Luke II.  Then we turned out the lights, lit a candle, and sang happy birthday to Jesus.  Then we sang some Christmas carols about him like Silent Night and Away in a Manger.
Gloria was ready to go home about then so Adam walked her back to her house and then we let the kids open their Christmas PJ’s and get out the cookies and milk for Santa.  Harry and Branson also wanted to write a note to Santa to put out with the cookies so they did that too.  Below are some pictures from the evening.

I told them they could “pose” any way they wanted to.  This is what I got! 🙂

Right before bed time we got a surprise visit from Santa and Sister Eliason!  So fun!

Bransons letter to Santa says, “Dear Santa Claus, we want to thank you for all you have done for us.  We wish you a very Merry Christmas. Love, Branson.  P.S.  Thisis not as bad as I can write.”

After sending the kids to bed Adam and I finished putting together our Christmas Puzzle that we had started that afternoon.  Then Adam went downstairs to finish up some Christmas wrapping while I dinked around on my computer.  We both headed to bed around midnight super excited to see what Santa brought us the next day, and feeling so Thankful for the birth of our Savior.
