Seeing wildlife in Yellowstone I think is one of most peoples favorite things. This proved to be correct for the kids as well. Although we didn’t see NEAR the amount of wildlife I remember as a child (no bears or eagles) we did see plenty of other things – like a beaver, wolf, elk, buffalo, ravens, geese, swans, and hawks. Unfortunately we didn’t get pictures of everything but below are a few of the pictures we did get.
This big guy was walking right next to our car. Notice the outline of a hand on the left of the picture and the edge of the car window. Crazy how close we were to it. Adalynn was cooing and talking like crazy seeing this!
No wildlife in this picture. I just thought it was pretty how the sun was hitting the mountain and trees and thought I’d throw it in there. đ
This Raven came and perched on the car next to us as we were getting everyone buckled in. It looked like it was either expecting us to throw it food or very curious as to what we were doing. We had another Raven at our Old Faithful stop do the same thing. They literally got within a few feet of us. Pretty spectacular.
Sure was an incredible day in Yellowstone. We ended the night with Mumsie’s Enchiladas with an egg on top, yummy caramel and cheddar popcorn, more pumpkin pie and a few games of sequence and hot dice. Perfect end to a perfect day!
