Loosing and Getting Teeth

We seem to have a lot going on around here at the Egbert house when it comes to teeth!  We’ve got Branson who as of a few weeks ago lost his FIRST two teeth within a couple of days of each other…And then we also have Adalynn who has gotten her first two bottom teeth as well. Which is REALLY rare at our house considering all the boys got their first teeth at around 10, 11, and 12 months!  Needless to say, theres been a lot of talk about teeth here lately.

Branson lost his first tooth around March 27th – but we aren’t sure exactly how.  When he went to bed the tooth was there – but then later when he went to wiggle the tooth at school after lunch he said that it had disappeared!  ha ha. We wonder if maybe it got swallowed along with his lunch.  GROSS!

He was so excited though to come home and tell me about it and LOVED sporting his new toothless grin!  So cute!  He pretty much holds the record in his first grade class for the kid to take the longest to loose a tooth!  When he lost it he was only around 6 weeks shy of turning 7!  Wow!

Luckily he lost his 2nd tooth a few days later (with the help of Daddy who pulled it out for him) and so he at least had something to leave under his pillow that night. He wrote a note to the tooth fairy letting her know what happened and thankfully she was pretty understanding about the lost first tooth.  I do have to say though that she was pretty LAME the first two nights Branson put the tooth under his pillow (I think it was the crummy weather) but she made up for it by sending Branson twice the amount she normally does.  Either that or she and her tooth fairy helper had some miscommunication and BOTH left money for him.  But he was sure excited whatever the reason may have been to have some extra cash!  Branson immediately gave me half of his money to put in his mission jar and to do tithing with and then begged for me to take him to the store so that he could get something.  He ended up picking out a little stuffed animal from D.I. that looked like Alex the Lion from Madagascar.  He calls him Larry and has been sleeping with him ever since.

Adalynn had her FIRST tooth come in just a few weeks after Branson lost his (around mid April) and Adam and I didn’t even know she was teething.  She was still just as happy and content as ever.  She’s since got in a 2nd tooth but has been a little more cranky with that one.  We aren’t complaining though – besides being up one time one night requiring a little bit of Tylenol she has been been a perfect angel.

Sure has been fun though to have such exciting milestones going on!  Congrats Brans and Adalynn!
