Christmas Day!

Christmas this year was as usual a big hit with the boys – although I’d dare say they were VERY confused when they came down the stairs Christmas morning.  “This isn’t a playground!” they exclaimed with concerned faces.  “Its just the slide.  We asked for a playground!”  But once Adam and I explained to the boys that Santa thought it would be fun for us to build the playground together as a family – and that there were more boxes in the basement containing more of the playground- they were SO EXCITED!!!
All three boys immediately went for their stockings where shouts of “I’ve always wanted this,” and “How did Santa know?” were heard in abundance.  The big hit from the stockings seemed to be the big balloon like bouncy ball that you blow up with the elastic on the bottom where you can bounce the ball back and forth with your hands.  They boys thought Daddy was super man when he could do 3 balls at once (two balls using his hands and one in his teeth where he bounced it off his head).  Daddy’s are pretty amazing.  That is for sure.
Sissy was asleep for the morning festivities – but joined us later that morning after we had a lovely cinnamon roll breakfast.  We had 9:00 am church so we decided to forgo opening presents and instead used that time to stuff our faces and get ready for church.  We ended up being a few minutes late to Church and ended up sitting on the very back row in the overflow area where the boys thought they had free reign to run around and be CRAZY.  So even though Church was only 1 hour long…it felt like 5.  In between dealing with active children though we were able to feel a very nice warm Christmas spirit and those that spoke did a wonderful job.  I loved being able to go to Church on Christmas and focus on my Savior.
Afterwards we headed home where we were able to open up the presents under the Christmas tree and where the kids (and Adam) had fun sliding down the slide that was propped up on our couch.  It was fun to see the joy that came out of my little boys faces.  The rest of the day was spent playing games, watching Christmas movies, taking long leisurely naps, playing with new toys, and spending time together as a family.  We ended the evening by having Mum and Smurf over for a ham and cheesy potatoes dinner.

All three boys got new “dress up clothes” for Christmas.  Harry got the Army outfit (that Dawson is wearing), Dawson got a Lightning McQueen outfit, and Branson got a Werewolf.

Sure was a beautiful day spent with my beautiful family!
