One of the things I try to focus on the most during the Christmas season – is teaching my children about the TRUE meaning of Christmas. That being our Savior Jesus Christ. The process of getting to know my Savior has been such a source of joy and peace in my life – and his gospel, forgiveness, and atonement have drastically changed who I am today. I know that he lives, is real, knows me, and is a part of my life. My greatest desire is that my children will come to love and know their Savior as well and have a personal relationship with him and want to be like him.
So when I heard about a local Creche (or display of Nativities) being put on by an LDS church nearby I decided it would be a fun outing for our family that would help us focus on our Savior. So one night we bundled up in the car and headed over. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints did an EXCELLENT job displaying different nativities from all over the world some so small you could fit them in your pocket and others very detailed, fancy, and beautiful. They had nativities that were kid friendly and others so breakable you didn’t dare breath on them. They even had a LIVE nativity (which I missed having to excuse myself to the car to pump) but the kids and Adam got to see it and enjoyed seeing what took place in actino. There were probably around 50-100 different nativities to look at. I so did love spending that time with my family and the beautiful discussions and questions that came from it. Below are some of the pictures from our outing.
