Every year Payson City hosts what they like to call “Payson Onion Days.” Its basically a big weekend long party with lots of booths, rides, food, fun, and fireworks. They also have a big carnival that goes on at the park and then on Monday (labor day) they do a big parade. Its something that Adam and I love to take the boys to each year and something we really enjoy doing as a family.
This year they also did a big MONSTER TRUCK ride where you could take an actual ride IN the truck and drive over cars and such. It looked AWESOME (was only $5 per person) and was something I was REALLY hoping I could do. But with just having a baby a few weeks ago and the jarring that would go along with one of those rides and the possibility of splitting open stitches- I decided I should probably opt out THIS year. HOPEFULLY they will have it again next year though. Its definitely going on my bucket list of things to do someday.
We started out our weekend by heading over to Memorial park where they were having 1 ticket ride Friday (normally the rides are 2-3 tickets). We bought ourselves $20 worth of tickets – gave each boy 6 tickets (and Mom and Dad each got one) and played until our tickets were gone!
Then on Monday we headed over to Main street where Payson was putting on their labor day parade. We found a nice sunny spot, set up our chairs, broke out the snacks and awaited the police sirens to start the parade.

Mum and Smurf were kind enough to join us for the parade and brought the kids all sorts of yummy goodies to snack on. Thanks guys!

Adam and I had to laugh because pretty much the ONLY time you saw a float during the parade was when it was some cities royalty. And even then they were few and far between. Seems like parades now a days are just a bunch of businesses advertising, and a few bands. But the kids sure like em – especially all the candy they get thrown at them! 🙂

However, I do have to say that this plumbing business did get my attention with their creative advertising!
