Today I went in for my 38 week Doctors appointment – which for me (because I’m being induced a week early) – is my LAST appointment this pregnancy! Yay! Yay! Yay! I am so excited to finally be at the end and am SO ready for this little girl to join our family. At my appointment today I was dilated to 2.5 cm – but besides that hadn’t changed much. My cervix is still high and hard so my doctor once again stripped my membranes hoping that would help things along. I kind of doubt it does anything seeing it hasn’t helped with any of my other pregnancies (my track record is to go PAST my due date 2-5 days. Aka, why I LOVE being induced) but we will see.
Dr. Anderson is guessing this little one will be around 7.5 to 8 lbs whereas his PA is guessing around 6 lbs. I had to laugh at that seeing as ALL my boys were between 9.1 and 9.14 lbs – but to each his own. My guess is that little Sis will indeed be smaller than my boys – but I’m still gearing up for an 8.5 to 9 lb’er. Dawson was a week early as well (I was induced with him) and he was still 9’3. So we will see. I’m scheduled to be induced in 6 days on August 17th at 6:00 am. I seriously cannot WAIT!
Adam and I have FINALLY gotten really serious about the name game – but so far haven’t been able to agree on any ONE name. We have a few we both like – but its still been hard narrowing things down and both of us have had to give up on our FAVORITES – because we couldn’t budge the other (I LOVE the name Ella, Eliana, or Ellie and Adam not so much. Adam likes the names Janae, Zoe, Mazy, and Cora – me not so much).
We also found out that a couple of the names we really like are REALLY popular (Lillian, Lilly, Olivia, Grace)- so we had to veto those seeing as we don’t want our kids having to share their names with 4 other people like we did when starting school. However, the names we are considering (and in debates about) right now are as follows:
Adalynn (one of my favorites)
Eliza/Lizzie (one of Adam’s favorites)
Everly
Alana (Aw-lawn-aw)
Mylana (my-lawn-aw)
Clara (Clair-aw)
Ainsley
Feel free to vote on which one you like best too. Maybe that will help convince us! đ
Anyway, its sure been fun to think about our little girl coming so soon and to start working on some of my “nesting projects” I want to get done before she comes. I have seriously been turning into an organizational Nazi the last couple of weeks going through everything organized from the boys shoe cupboard, to my closet, to the car, to drawers and rooms in our house that drive me crazy. Adam has been a peach though and pretty much every night will help me knock out a few things on my list. Sure do love him.
As for the boys they are seriously SO CUTE already about the arrival of their new baby sister. They have been counting down for weeks now and everyday say something like “Oh I just can’t WAIT to hold Sissy Pants,” or “I’m just going to kiss her all day!” I love it. I also get smothered with kisses every night and morning and during the day on my tummy by little boys who just adore their baby sister already.
Dawson on the other hand I’m kind of worried about. For the past month or two he has just become completely clingy and for the most part won’t leave my or Adam’s side – even when friends or cousins are around. I think he’s understanding his world is about to change and he’s soaking up every last minute he can with Adam and I. I bought him a doll to try to help with the adjustment – and he does seem to be bonding with that doll – but I’m anxious to see how he reacts once little sis is really here.

I’ll take a few last pictures next week on Tuesday when I hit 39 weeks as we are heading to the hospital – but am hoping they aren’t too much different than this week. Hopefully my next post will be of cute little miss though! Can’t WAIT!
