Pig Roast

On Saturday evening the boys and I were able to attend the semi-annual PIG ROAST that our good friends Dan and Cheyenne Green put on every 6 months. Dan and I have been friends since our single days and his family (he and his two brothers and parents) were pretty much my 2nd family before my mission. So it is always fun when I get to see Dan and Cheyenne and the entire Green Family.

When we arrived I was able to talk to Cheyenne a little about the process of cooking the pig and she told me that she and Dan had gotten up at 3:00 am to start the pig roasting. Between making different marinades, and cutting up the pig, and then cooking and turning the pig it is quite the ordeal. But my oh my was the meat DELICIOUS at the end. Thank you Dan and Cheyenne for inviting us! We sure think you guys are great!

Dan and his buddy getting ready to take the pig off the spit

If you look closely you can see the head on the right and then half of the pigs body below that and the other half laying on the table ready to be cut for eating. They also cooked about 4 small hens for the “non pork” likers.

The party was hosted at the home of Steve Argyle – one of Dan and Cheyennes good friends. They had this awesome tire swing that the kids loved playing on.

My crazy haired Harry Bob!

Dawson’s reaction to 8 month old Corbin stealing his cookie! ha ha. Poor fella.

Triston and Riley (who is a twin to Corbin). LOVE Riley’s face in this one!

Thanks again Dan and Cheyenne for having us. We love you guys!
