Adult Stake Dance

I just have to take a minute and completely BRAG about how wonderful my sweet Adam is to me. I seriously wonder everyday how I ever got so lucky to have him. We’ve been married for 8.5 years now and yet he still is so good about doing the little things to make me happy. He truly is a gift in my life.

As most of you know dancing is a passion of mine. It is something that brings me so much joy and truly fills my love bucket. Unfortunately it is also something that I don’t get to do much of – outside my own house that is – with three little boys to take care of. However, Adam is always so good about making sure we get out at least once a year to go and do this.

This year I had mentioned to Adam that I had heard about an upcoming adult stake dance. I even went so far as to put it on our calendar a month in advance – but then life got busy and I TOTALLY forgot about it. Totally.

So you can imagine my surprise when the afternoon of the adult dance (that I didn’t remember) I woke up to THIS on my floor!

In case you can’t read it it says “Now that I’ve kissed the ground you walk on…Will you please go to the dance with me? Love, Ad.”

Totally cute right? And I loved all the hersheys hugs and caramel kisses Ad left on our bedroom floor. What a man! So of course I said yes. Adam had even arranged babysitters (thanks Mum and Smurf) and dinner at a local steakhouse. Ummm good.

Below is a picture of me all dressed up and showing off of my 21 week baby bump!

A closer look at that growing baby bump…

Oh and let me not forget the other amazing thing Adam did that night….he actually made me a beautiful corsage! He went out into our flower garden and picked some Hyacinth and then used electrical tape to bind them together and then borrowed a bow and a large pin from his Mom. See why I feel so lucky? Yeah, Adam pretty much rocks in my book! 🙂

For dinner we went to a place called Alfredo’s here in Payson and split a big filet mignon plate with baked potato, veggies, salad, and rolls. It was YUMMY. While there we also ran into our good friends and neighbors the Thaynes and loved sitting with them and catching up. It was really a great time!

After dinner we drove up to where the dance was being held in Elkridge but discovered that we had the time that it started wrong and were 30 minutes early! So we decided to go up to Mum and Smurfs for a minute so that Adam could “show off his date.” He’s so funny but made me feel like a million bucks. On our way up to Elkridge though it had started snowing and when Adam went to go around a corner he found he couldn’t turn the roads were so icy. So off we went into a nice little ditch. That was sure exciting and so was the rocking back and forth trying to get out of it! 🙂

After going to Mum and Smurfs we headed back to the dance where we were pleased to see some friends from our ward the Griffiths and Lau’s. I also ran into an old seminary teacher of mine from back in my Orem Institute of Religion days.

The dance itself was just sheer awesomeness. One of the things I absolutely LOVE about Adam is that he is completely and totally willing to just go crazy on the dance floor with me. And when I say crazy I really mean it. He will just randomly break out in off the wall dances and have me swinging and moving all across the dance floor. It doesn’t matter whether its a slow song or not. He literally had me in tears by the end of the night I was laughing so hard from all his crazy moves. I was simply in HEAVEN and loved every minute of it. Thank you so much Adam for making the night so special for me. What a blessing you are in my life. I love you babe!
