BB Guns, Fishing, Ladder-Ball, El Sol, Mantua Lake and Tinfoil Dinners

Friday we woke up to a beautiful morning and decided to spend most of it playing outside at the cabin. Adam got out a BB gun and taught the boys how to shoot, took the boys fishing, and then we played croquet and ladder-ball. Adam and I were in competition with each other on ladder-ball and Adam was trying to beat my highest score of 11 points (playing with 6 balls). He tried for about an hour with no luck and then finally made up his own version of throwing all 6 balls at once! He finally beat me, until I tried his method the next round and racked up 23 points since I had three balls touching both the 2 and 3 point ladder (giving me double points!) Yahoo! It was sure fun! We of course also had a lot of tree swing action going on as well.

He LOVED shooting guns with Dad!

Unfortunately this game didn’t go over to well with the boys OR Mom and Dad. We just never seemed to be able to get the ball to go where we wanted it to and gave up after about 20 minutes

Sure love this baby!

Later that afternoon we went into town (Logan) to have lunch at one of Adam’s favorite Mexican restaurants “El Sol.” Adam was in HEAVEN and is convinced he has figured out how to make El Sol’s famous salsa! He can’t wait to try it out at home.

After lunch we actually were headed home to Utah Valley to go to cousins camp at Mum and Smurfs that evening when we ended up finding out that it had been “rearranged.” It ended up not starting until after the kids bedtime and then the activity (that we had already arranged tickets for) got canceled. So we ended up deciding just to stay an extra night in Logan and continue our fun! We took a drive out to Mantua lake and enjoyed exploring the area.

These kids are just too cute!

Since we were staying an extra day longer than expected we had to run to the grocery store to get food for more meals. While there we had our first experience with a child getting lost. Branson had wondered off to look at something and when we got up to the checkout counter and were heading out the doors of Wal-Mart we realized he was not with us. Luckily we were able to find him after a 5 minutes search of the store and calling his name. We had a lesson on what do do if Brans ever finds himself lost again! I hope to never go through that again!

Then we headed back to the cabin where we built a fire, cut up zucchini, carrots, potatoes, and yellow squash and then made us up some hamburger tinfoil dinners. Adam napped while the kids and I played horse shoes and watched the fire.

Branson found these cool leaves while I was putting the dinners together and when I asked him what he was, he replied, “I’m Tinkerbell!” Cute!

Getting ready to eat our yummy Tinfoil dinners!

Sure was a fun day spent with my very favorite people! 🙂
