On Sunday something very extraordinary happened in my life, and this something that happened is just one more lesson to me that the Lord truly is in charge of our lives and answers prayers. I just cannot even believe how it all came together and am still in shock because of it.
Let me back up. After my mission I started attending an AMAZING singles ward called Mount Mahogony in American Fork, Utah. It covered all the singles from Lehi, to PG, to American Fork, Highland, Cedar Hills, and Alpine. It was HUGE and our dear bishop pretty much let anyone come to that who wanted to. It was in this ward that I made some of my most cherished friends, and some of those people I still see on a monthly basis, and yearly basis. I still count those years in that ward as some of my most precious! The friends I made there are some I hope will be apart of my life forever.
Well the Relief Society President in that ward was a very special lady. Marci Hedges was her name and we pretty much instantly connected from our first meeting at a girls night out at Nichole May’s house where we both discovered that we had been proposed to and kissed by the same boy! We spent all night talking about it and sharing stories of our past and were pretty much bestie’s after that.
It was during this time in my life that I met Adam and 4 months later married him and sort of lost contact with Marci. I heard through friends that she had moved to California and later I heard that she had met her prince charming and gotten herself married. Yay for Marci!
Over the years Marci’s name would come up often at Mount Mahogony reunions, and girls nights out, but no one knew where Marci was. She seemed to have disappeared from everyones address books. Adam and I even tried google searching for her many times looking on Dex online, facebook, and blogs. We never could find a spec of information on her whereabouts, and nobody else we knew seemed to know where she was either.
So you can imagine my surprise when on Sunday Adam and I show up to a random ward to attend church and within a few minutes of sitting on the back row (yes we were late!) we hear someone call my name, and look over to see no other than Marci Hedges (now Bach) waving frantically at us! I could NOT believe my eyes! Nor the miracle of finding her so randomly after all these years! Adam was so kind and offered to take the boys during church and then afterwards so that I could spend a few hours getting caught up with Marci. We were having so much fun it was hard to part!
I ended up going to Marci’s home with her lovely family (Garrett, Katelyn 3 and Brooklyn 9 months) where we had lunch together and spent a few hours catching up. It was absolutely heavenly and we both were just in awe that we had found each other after all those years! What a wonderful tender mercy from the Lord!
So without further ado (to all you Mount Mahogoners who read my blog), here are some pictures of our beautiful beloved Marci Hedges! She was lost but now is found!
That is so neat that you ran into her. I love how the Lord shows us in small ways that he is in our lives. I hope you got all her info so maybe if she is ever in utah she can come visit us.
