What do you want for Christmas little boy? ho ho ho

For weeks now whenever we have asked Branson what he wants Santa to bring him for Christmas his reply has always been, “A PIG! A Pig, that eats HAMBURGERS!”

Uh, say what? Come again? Did you say a pig that eats hamburgers?

Both Adam and I have been so confused and could not for the life of us figure out what in the world Brans was wanting. I at first though, “oh this is easy, I’ll just go buy him a stuffed pig and then get a few of his play hamburgers from his play kitchen set, and wha-la! I’m the worlds greatest Mom.” So easy, right? Uh, no!

But then I inquired further. “Brans, where did you see this pig that eats hamburgers?”

“On Saturday Har-morning cartoons!” was his reply. P.S. He actually means Saturday morning cartoons, but we love how he says it har-morning so we don’t correct him. Its too cute! 🙂

Oh okay. At least now I have a starting place. So yesterday I decided to google “pig that eats hamburger cartoon.” The only thing that came up was….dun. dun. dun. Porky Pig! Or sites that talk about how people pigged out on hamburgers. So Not helpful! And being somewhat confident that it wasn’t Porky Pig that Branson wanted I dug further. This time going out to Cartoon network. I even went so far as to watch several of the cartoons, HOPING to find some fat pig that eat Hamburgers. Nada. Nothing!

So I got desperate and finally brought Brans in the room to see if he could show me which cartoon it was on. But even he can’t point out the cartoon! BUT…then it dawns on me. What if its a commercial for some toy DURING Saturday Morning Cartoons?

So I googled again. This time I just put in “Pig that eats hamburgers” into the search field and when the page came up….Branson stared yelping and screaming excitedly. “Thats it! Thats it Mom! Thats what I’ve always wanted for Christmas!”

I have not been able to stop laughing! Seriously, THAT’s what all the hub-bub has been about? And get this….the object of the game is to feed the pig until its belly pops! Plus it also has this great burping sound as you are feeding it. GREEEAAAAT!

Even more funny to me is that apparently this toy is the new hottest thing around because EVERY single store I tried was OUT OF STOCK. And believe me I looked EVERYWHERE. Target. Walmart. Toys R Us. and about 15 other no-name stores online. I did find it on Amazon, but it had a 4-6 week shipping time.

But, being as this was THE toy Branson wanted to make his Christmas dreams come true, I bought it anyway off of Amazon and then told Brans a story about how Santa had so many letters for the Pig that Eats Hamburgers Toy that his elves couldn’t make enough of them to deliver them to every single boy and girl by Christmas, but that he promised to send it in the mail a few weeks after Christmas. Luckily Branson was totally cool with that.

The good news. Today I got an email saying it had shipped! Estimated shipping date? December 15th! So I’m here to tell you. Christmas wishes really do come true!
