Unfortunately on Halloween this year the kids all got sick with some sort of illness we aren’t sure what. The symptoms included fevers, sore throats, and coughing. It started with Branson, who spread it to Harrison and then Dawson developed a cough as well (Luckily no fever though). So we had a low-key weekend and stayed in doors for Halloween. Adam was able to go and borrow my brothers Bobcat and he worked all afternoon knocking over the hill of dirt next to our house so that we can eventually put a fence in. It was tough work and had me completely NERVOUS and freaking out because the Bobcat looked so unstable and at times like it would to tip over, but the kids and I said a prayer of safety and my nerves were calmed. Luckily Adam didn’t have any accidents and he did an amazing job getting most of the hill of dirt moved.

As for me, I spent the entire morning and afternoon taking care of sick kids, and cleaning the house from top to bottom. I was able to deep clean our 2 main floor bathrooms, washed baseboards, swept and mopped all our tile floors, empty the dishwasher, do the dishes, clean the kitchen counter, oven, and chairs, and then did 3-4 loads of laundry as well. Its always nice to get so much done! But boy was I tired!
Then that evening my dear sweet wonderful husband insisted that I go to our Singles Ward Halloween activity at the Big Red Barn by our house. They were having a big multi-stake dance, and Ad knows how much I LOVE to dance. It simply fills me and I’m able to really let my hair down and be ME! I had originally suggested we take turns going, but he was a doll and told me to just go and enjoy myself. I sure love him. And Enjoy myself I did! đ In fact, I’m pretty sure some of my dear friends in our ward may need to receive counseling now that they have seen me dance! đ What a great time we all had though!

I felt really bad but I totally didn’t get the “Gem” costume. I guess it was one of those 80’s hit shows that I just never remember watching.

Holly and Tara! Tara was my saving grace and held my keys for me in the pockets of her apron all night! Such a sweetheart!

(Although he may be losing this status due to the fact that he took not 1 but 2 video’s of me dancing and is threatening to post them on facebook!)

Katie the cowgirl, Rebecca actually got her costumer in GREECE on one of her trips, and Megan seriously WAS Snow White. She’s beautiful, innocent, and loves short little men! (Thats her real hair too!)

I even ran into my old pal Jamie at the event. She was in our ward when we first were called into the singles ward but then moved to Salt Lake. We miss her!

The most questionable costume came from our own Travis Hoban who wore naked barbie dolls pinned to his shirt. I was pretty certain he was going to have to stop by the Bishops house on the way home for some confessing, but then he just explained that he was the “Bare Naked Ladies.”

Vicki, Maryanne, and Carrie all went as Cupids. They were adorable. Funny story too. Vicki drives a truck and after the dance when we were helping clean up someone left a note on her car telling her her lights were on, but also leaving their phone number to call them ANYTIME if they wanted to know who the good Samaritan was. The funny part though….is that is was written on heart shaped paper and was in a GIRLS handwriting complete with smiley faces! So whoever wrote the note totally assumed Vicki was a guy (since she does drive a truck). Totally cracked us up! We also got a kick out of Vicki and her obsession with Jack Sparrow’s “Man Hands!”
It's not a viking pig, they are Paul Bunyon and Babe his blue ox!!
I am laughing so hard at all the awesome costumes plus I like that you stayed in character in all of the pictures.
