Be Fore-warned that this post contains a BUTT-Load of pictures! I should also probably give a little introduction of Omnitures Halloween parties because they are completely INSANE! Each year there is a big competition between departments and each department is given so many $1000’s of dollars in their decorating budget JUST for this event. The departments spend hours upon hours planning what they will do, and each year are stressed to come up with the next best idea. The winning department is given $5000 as a prize for which they can use to buy whatever they want. They can have a big party, take everyone out for dinner, break it up in cash to each employee, or buy fun things like Wii’s, Xboxes, Big Screen TV’s, or Fuse Ball tables for their break rooms. Anyway, this competition is HUGE, and VERY well done and VERY well planned. And they invite all the family of employees to come trick or treating throughout it.
To say I was impressed with it, would be an understatement. It was simply Amazing and left me without words to describe its awesomeness. SO COOL! And I was forced to humble myself and forgive Adam (and Omniture) for making Ad work until 1:30 in the morning to get everything ready for this. And I had to take back how ridiculous it was that Adam had to spray paint leaves in our basement, and gather rocks from our yard to prepare for this! I thought they were going just a tad bit overboard! But I did eat my words, and do agree now that all the hours Omniture spent on this was worth it. It was out of this world PHENOMENAL!
I should also explain that this Halloween decorating contest takes place in 3 buildings with 2 floors on each building, and that all the decorations are woven between cubicles and it takes you over 2 hour to see everything. (However, you would NEVER know this from the incredible way they arrange everything). So without further ado, here is Omnitures Incredible Halloween Competition!

We started out by entering into the “Looney Toons” room which came from the Engineering departments theme of Cartoons and Childrens stories

Pictures that looked normal and then turned into scary faces! (Let me remind you that all of this is being decorated around cubicles where people work!) AMAZING!

The next building did a “Night at the Movies theme” and it was Incredible!
Here is a poster with Omnitures CEO Josh James as Edward in Twilight

I loved the new title of this one, “Cloudy with a chance of down time!” So appropriate considering how much work went into this thing!

After we saw what movies would be playing in this departments competition we were given popcorn and treats as we entered at the concessions stand. So clever!

We started out by personal greetings from our favorite Twilight stars!
Rob Patterson was so digging me!

This was one of my favorite parts. They had a green screen behind you and you could pretend to be characters in the Star Wars movie! So fun!

One of the coolest parts about the Peter Pan area was that they had a zip line that the kids (and Adults for that matter) could go on. It was like they were flying! So cool.

Next they had the Japanese Game Show where they had contestants (people like us going through the tour) do crazy stunts and games. It was a little grown up for our type of people so we just went through.

The next departments theme was that of “Las Vegas!” And what is Las Vegas without the King of Rock and Roll? Had to get a kiss with him. He’s SOOOO dreamy! đ

Statue of Liberty (and what I didn’t get a picture of is that they had a food room across from the Statue of Liberty where they had a big Buffet of different treats, snacks, and little smokies. Very clever!

This room is actually NOT dressed up for Halloween and is actually one of Omnitures “Game Rooms” where employees can bring their friends and family to play games at all hours of the night. Adam has come here several times with his brothers for the occasional “game night.”

I think these guys were supposed to be the “Blue Man Group,” only they were the “Green Man Group,” since Omniture’s color scheme is green. They also had trash can lids and stuff for kids to play the drums on. Very cool.

One of my favorite department themes was the “Smurfs.” They really did a great job and it was very believable (The Executives were over this one)

They even hired small people to come in for the event! (Adam says they’ve figured out some way to hire small people and use them in these competitions for 4 years running!)

The Smurfs were very kind to Dawson too, and loaded him up with all sorts of Hostess Treats. Too bad he can’t eat any of them yet!

Another area did the theme of Care Bears and used plastic garbage sacks filled with air for the clouds.

Side Note: We felt like we were in New York again with all the going up and down stairs with the stroller! Adam was my Hero though as honestly he did ALL the work.

Pac-Man was actually Adams idea and apparently it WON the competition
(Well actually Adam’s whole department won, but when they announced the winner they announced it as the Pac-Man department. )

They had little yellow balls lined up above your head to signify the dots of the game you eat, and then had the bad ghost like creatures roaming around trying to eat you. So funny!

Another one of my favorite themes was “Beetlejuice.” Remember my story about Paul (Adam’s co-worker) that helped me call Adam when I left my cell phone at my friends house? Well He was Beetlejuice and played the part to PERFECTION! Voice, mannerisms, everything!
Here is the scene in the movie where he is dug up in the miniature cemetery.

I loved some of the clever ideas for passing out candy to the kids!
(Again let me remind you all this was done in the dark!)

The last and final theme (and best if you ask me) was from Adam’s department (No I’m not biased, it really WAS the coolest one!) They did Star Trek. You stared out by going into this wrecked shuttle. As you entered they gave you some Chromadepth 3D glasses (which makes certain colors appear 3D)
Looks like you had a great time!! how did you guys walk around in the dark w/ sunglasses on?!
Wow!!! This looked AMAZING! What a fun night…it's not often that something is as entertaining for you as it is for this kids! So cool.
