Logan Cabin

On Friday after going to the Aerospace Museum we headed up to our Cabin in Logan Canyon. We hadn’t been up to the cabin in about 2-3 years and boy had it changed! We couldn’t believe all the work that had been done and improvements that have been made. New cabinets, new tile in the bathrooms and kitchen, new carpet, new furniture, and a completely new bathroom. It was really quite remarkable and made being there just that much more fun.

The living area complete with a new couch!

The awesome new bathroom with a full shower, new cabinets, and tile floor (this used to be an old kitchen)

The kitchen also had new cabinets and a new tile floor!

Even the fire pit looked like it was in better shape and had some new benches to sit on.

I had to laugh because pretty much upon arrival the very first thing Adam did was put up the old tree swing. This cabin was built by Adam’s Grandma and Grandpa Felix who used to come to the cabin once a week with their friends to grill up some steaks. Then when Adam was a boy, they also carried on a similar tradition and would come up quite regularly. And the tree swing was always one of the best parts of going to the cabin. All the kids (and adults for that matter LOVED it).

Adam and the boys swinging on the famous tree swing complete with a queen sized bed!

Swinging must have rocked Adam to sleep because he actually went and took a nap (rare for him) while the boys and I tried out the 4-wheeler. Branson actually did very good and could steer quite well. Harrison, however, didn’t quite get it and kept running himself into trees!

So we just had big brother ride on the 4-wheeler with him to help him steer.

I had to laugh because Harry-Bob never really smiled while on it, but just looked like he was deep in thought concentrating on what he was doing. Branson on the other hand was as giddy as a school boy!

This 4-wheeler really was a lifesaver for keeping the boys entertained!

Later that afternoon we were lucky enough to have some of our wonderful friends come and join us at the cabin for our August Jurashic Eggs event. The Jurgens were the first to arrive! (Sorry for the blurry picture. This was unfortunately the best one we got!)

Then the Ashby’s arrived with darling new baby bug (David Vern)

And finally the Kerics came! Although poor Kimber had thrown out her back and was pretty miserable most of the night until we made her take drugs! 🙂

What a good Daddy!

We spent most of the night talking and gorging ourselves on Pizza, Kimbers homemade bread, Nichole and Geralds Chocolate Chunk cookies from Costco, and the Jurgens E.L. Fudge cookies! Some of the best quotes of the night that had us rolling in laughter were:

1) Captain Nutters! (We think this may end up being Geralds new Nickname!)
2) The invisible man and his black boy side kick Shadow. I still think the T-shirts would be a hit!
3) Joey: “Some days I just like to make out.” While behind Joeys back Missy (his wife) looks completely and utterly shocked by this comment. 🙂
4) Biker Spawning Season

The next day after a scrumptious breakfast of egg, ham, hash brown, green pepper, and mushroom casserole, and blue-berry muffins the Men and Missy took off for a fun afternoon of rock climbing. Kimber, Nichole and I stayed back and watched the kids. We popped some popcorn and watched “Chicken run,” and then the little boys went outside and enjoyed exploring the yard and pushing each other on the 4-wheeler when the batteries went dead.

Then we spent some time outside playing games and swinging on the tree swing. Unfortunately, I got motion sickness on the tree swing and ended up spending the next few hours trying to keep from throwing up by laying on the cold grass and going down with Dawson for a nap. (Thank you to all of you who helped to pack up and clean the cabin while I was down for the count. Ya all are terrific! 🙂 By the time I got up from my nap, most everyone had taken off to go home with the exception of Kimber and Eric who had stayed to hang out. We were lucky enough to convince them to go out to eat with us at one of Adam’s favorite Mexican restaurants “El’ Sol” where Ad and I split a huge order of Nachos! It was sure yummy!

At the restaurant. These two crack me up!

Me and my Honey

Thanks to everyone for a wonderful weekend! We love you guys!
