Day 3 & 4 took us to the island of Moorea, and Raiatea, but unfortunately it rained the entire day we were in Moorea, and almost every tour was canceled. We fortunately didn’t mind so much knowing we’d be returning to Moorea later after our cruise, but we felt bad for those who had hoped to see it.
We instead made lots of new friends on the boat, learned and taught some line dances, played cards, read books, and took it easy most of the day.
That night we had hoped to celebrate our 19th anniversary at the ship’s steakhouse called “Candles” but unfortunately due to the storm almost everyone on the ship ended up sick, including myself! I made it as far as ordering my food but then had to run out of the restaurant to puke over the railing! Yuck! Adam had them bring our dinners to our room, but I couldn’t eat a bite and just went straight to bed.
My nausea even came after wearing anti nausea bracelets, taking Dramamine that morning and two more that evening. Nothing was working. Apparently I wasn’t the only one and we found out the next morning that only 30 people out of the 83 on the boat had eaten the night before meaning 53 were sick! Crew members also struggled. But it was definitely the most sick I’ve ever been on a cruise! 😜 Needless to say I have very few photos from day 3. 😂
Day 4 however, we woke up in paradise with a beautiful sunshiny day and a plan to rent a scooter and explore the island of Raiatea for $35.
We were able to see a botanical garden, Tahiti archeological site, and our first glimpses of the crystal clear Tahit water we had come to see! That day was magical! ❤️
