Happiness is spending the weekend in one of your favorite places with some of your favorite people! ❤️
Adam has been going backpacking to the Wind Rivers up in Wyoming since he was 5, and it’s Quickly become one of our families favorite yearly traditions as well. It’s hard work and grueling at times and over 25 miles of hiking but you can’t beat the views and fishing and we all love it.
This year was the FIRST year that all 7 of us were able to go backpacking. All the kids have been to the winds in the past but those years we just camped at the lake or did a modified trip where I had to stay back at camp with our littles, so having us all be together the entire trip was pretty special.
The rule in our home is that our kids aren’t allowed to backpack until they are mature enough to hike 5 miles without complaining. Some of our kids have been able to go at age 5, others have been 8 or 9. 😂
When we were in Peru Jamis did 9.5 miles on the Inca trail (he’s 6) and earned the right to come this year. He was so excited to backpack and loved catching his first fish at lake Gadsby in the winds
.
Unfortunately I only have pics from when we first arrived and the last day (as we turned off my phone to preserve battery) but more pics from Adams phone coming soon! It was an awesome Labor Day weekend! ❤️
