After getting a tour of the Adobe office, I had the whole day to myself while Adam was working so I decided to go and explore a little bit of Sydney. Adam was able to set up a map program on my phone so I could tell where I was at all times, which helped me navigate the city quite well. Normally I am a little nervous going around on my own, but I actually had a pretty great day and was proud of myself for getting out of my comfort zone! And It meant I got to see sights in Sydney that I otherwise would have missed! I ended up getting to see the Botanical gardens, Opera house in the daylight, the Harbor bridge, and the older part of Sydney called “The rocks.” I loved them all!
One of the fountains I saw while touring Sydney.
Beautiful churches were all over the city.
The statues were pretty great too.
An Eye Hospital
More crazy statues!
Loved the giant trees all over.
I ended up getting caught in a rainstorm for awhile and took shelter under a pavilion where I was able to talk to a delightful woman from the UK. She was there painting but had lived in Sydney for quite sometime. She gave me some tips for the best places to go in the gardens. 🙂
No idea what this is, but it was cool.
I thought maybe this was one of Australia’s dangerous poisonous spiders, but when I looked it up later, it ends up it is quite harmless. It was however, about the size of the palm of my hand!
Beautiful gardens.
The backside of the Opera House. Cool to see it during the day as well as at night.
Sydney Harbor Bridge.
A close up of the Opera House. Its made out of tiles. Who knew?
I ended up walking up to the bridge to get some close up pictures. Pretty cool place. You can also pay hundreds of dollars to hike to the top of the bridge, but they don’t let you take pictures. Say what? That would be the whole reason I’d want to climb it!
I forget what this building was. A University maybe? Office building?
View of the Opera House from the bridge.
View of the city.
A big cruise ship came in. I couldn’t believe how big it was compared to the harbor!

The old part of town and New part collide.
The part of the city they call “The rocks.” I think you can tell why. 🙂
