After our hike to Mandan Summit we then started our hike to Stewart Falls which was gorgeous! I loved being down IN the trees with an “up close and personal” view of the fall leaves. The high light of our hike was getting to see a 2 Point buck who we apparently snuck up on! But he didn’t seem the least bit afraid of us and actually let us get really close to him. He was one beautiful animal!
We took a shortcut through Dry Lake Loop which took us through a more forested area with lots of ferns.
I just couldn’t get enough of the fall colors!
There were lots of these mini orange bushes all over! These cute bushes brought back lots of good memories of my childhood in our Lehi house because we had a tree with these on them and I used to pretend they were barbie oranges! ha ha!
And finally the falls came into view! They were just gorgeous!
I ended up hiking up past the first falls to get a better view of the 2nd falls.
This is the view from the top of the lower falls looking at the upper falls.
If you look closely you can see tha there were actually two little waterfalls up at this level. Cool!

Adam took a turn hiking up as well. The trail up was a pretty steep one and involved a small amount of rock climbing.
Adam was brave and went under the cool falls. I preferred staying warm and dry! 😉
Then it was time to head back down to Sundance.
We mostly hiked along the river which was beautiful.
More fall leaves! Yay!
As we drove home through the canyon, we got to watch the sun go down, which was so lovely!
What an amazing world we live in! How grateful I am for a loving Heavenly Father who created such a beautiful world for us to live in.
