Salamander Flats Mahogony Reunion

Back on August 27th my awesome friend Jimmy Ludwig put together a Mount Mahogony reunion up American Fork canyon with friends from our old singles ward.  I can’t tell you how grateful I am for my old singles ward, because some of my very closest friends today are from that ward and are people who have blessed my life in incalculable ways.  All I know is that I have some of the best friends in the world!
The reunion was held up at Salamandar Flats in American Fork Canyon, which funny enough I’d never been to (I did live just minutes from the Canyon for most of my life). So it was awesome to get to explore a new part of the canyon, and although it was in an absolutely BEAUTIFUL area, what I didn’t like about it, was that it was super super SUPER dusty! Just check out Jamis within the first 30 seconds of being out of the car. He fell and face planted and was just covered from head to toe! And this was only one out of his several face plants that evening!

Lets take a closer look at that cute dirty face!

Since the reunion was held in a campground, some of the Mahogony families came up to spend the night. Scott Olsen and Catherine being one of those families! It was fun to hang out with them and get to know their kids!

It was just our three families for awhile (The Ludwigs, Olsens, & Egberts) but then the wonderful Jurgens showed up and crashed our party! We were sure glad they did! Love these folks!

And I’m so sorry for posting this picture Missy! but I LOVE your facial expression and those cute kids playing in the background want this moment forever etched in my mind! 😉 Love you girl!

My little cutie, after getting cleaned up for the 2nd time falling in the dirt.

So grateful for this guy!

The Jurgens and Egbert boys got right to playing lots of fun pretend games in the forest!

Not sure what Ady was doing under this pine tree, but she sure was cute!

She and Henry had fun finding forest “brooms” and sticks all over.

Later Jessica (Goodman) Woodward arrived with her two kids Preston and Bethany! Adam and I could not BELIEVE how big her kids had gotten. We were talking about it and we think the last time we actually saw Jessica’s kids was when we babysat Preston when Jessica and Dan were moving homes! And he was like 1 or 2 years old! Holy Crazy!

There was lots of fun and laughter abounding! And amazing and wonderful Jimmy and Lori made us all up some awesome dutch oven dinners. An apple cinnamon one, and a chocolate caramel one. They were both soooo good!

My contribution of a lonely watermelon seemed pretty lame after their amazing dutch oven desserts! But the kids loved the watermelon. Especially this guy! He didn’t even care how many times he dropped it in the dirt, or that his lips turned black from all the filth! He didn’t seem to mind getting some extra minerals at all!

Ady also must have been having lots of fun because she too was covered in dirt!

The Mahogony ladies! Catherine, myself, Missy, and Jessica.

Then right towards the end of the night we were so happy to see Katie Barton and her family show up! Unfortunately we only got to see them for a few minutes before we headed home since we still had an hour drive ahead of us and needed to give the kids baths, but we were grateful for the few moments we had together! Love this sweet family!

It sure was a wonderful reunion though and great to see so many awesome friends! We sure do love these special people in our lives!
