The rest of Saturday evening was mostly spent hanging out in the water around the house boat. Mom and I went out to cool off in our “life jacket diapers” and had fun floating and exploring our little area of the lake. I loved talking as we went and getting my Mom’s input on how I can be a better Mom to Harry, who often breaks down emotionally.
Soon everyone joined us in the water on paddle boards, kayaks, or other floating devices and we all had fun cooling off in the hot sun together.
Then later that evening we had yet another wonderful Lake Powell sunset! Loved watching it from the roof of the houseboat with my parents!
Love this shot of some of the kids hiking around the rocks!
That night Luke and Liesa had some more friends come out to the boat to hang out (an older man who brought us a bunch of freshly caught fish and his buddy and two girls, and then the neighbors next door). Luke and Liesa had their traditional dance party on the roof which we started out using my phone for (since the sound system wasn’t working), but after dancing for an hour or so I ended up taking an ambien and crashing early (around 10:30) since I was so bushed from staying up until 2:30 the next morning. Sure was a great day on the lake though, and I loved getting to spend another day hanging out with family and friends!
Sunday was pack up and leave day, so we all got up early and started tying everything down for the ride back to Bullfrog. Luke has a good system where he gets the boat cleaned, gassed, and dumped early so that he beats the crowds at the marina later. Then he puts the houseboat on the buoy and spends a few hours playing while other boats are pulling out to head home. Then once that rush is over, we head over where we can easily load the boats and jet skies and head home without waiting in any lines. Its a pretty genius system.
So after we got the houseboat dumped and gassed and put on the buoy Luke thought doing some “tube wars” would be fun. So I went out on the boat to watch. Luke ended up tying two single tubes and one 3 man tube to the back of his boat so that the 5 teenagers could do tube wars with each other. He put the 3 man tube in the middle and then the single tube riders had to get one person off the 3 man tube to become “king” of the tube. Then the next ride they got to ride on the 3 man tube. The kids loved the game and had a great time trying to get each other off.
Then Luke and Rob decided they also wanted a turn doing tube wars, so after the teenagers were done, they went out with Tyler, Dan, and Trevor, and the 5 of them did tube wars. I ended up driving the boat which was fun and they had a great time!
Then it was time to head back to the houseboat and then home. We were able to get the jet skies and boats loaded, and everything unpacked around 4 pm and then we all stopped in Hanksville for dinner. Then we did the rest of the 4 hour drive home.
All in all it was a wonderful trip and I loved getting to spend some quality time with my Mom and Dad, Luke and Liesa, Jasmine Tri and Kollin, and all Lukes wonderful friends and their kids. You can tell they all truly care about each other and would do anything for each other and its great to be with people that would give the shirt off their backs for one another. Thank you Luke for letting me tag along, and thank you Mom and Dad for letting me ride with you there and back, and thank you Adam and Mum and Smurf for helping out with the kids so I could go. I truly am blessed to have you all in my lives! Love you!
