After arriving at Zion Ponderosa, we got checked in and found our camp site and then Adam set up the trailer while I tried to get dinner going (it was almost 7 pm and we were all starving!) I ended up making kilbasa with green and yellow squash on our camp stove (which took forever to cook on) along with a strawberry, raspberry, blueberry salad, grapes and blackberries. Then we let the kids have some chewy chocolate chips and animal crackers for dessert.
Afterwards we went around to all the different camp sites to say hello to everyone, but when we found that most of the family was out and about doing activities or eating dinner we ended up just deciding to go swimming. We lucked out though and ran into Court, Sadie, Allie, Jackson, Kallie, and Abby at the pool! So we got to hang out with them for a bit. Then we headed back to our tent trailer where we put kids to bed and then went over to where Parris was camped to celebrate Jordans 25th birthday. It was fun hearing stories about Jordan (like how Parris took his phone away from him, and waited up until 2:00 in the morning and then went looking for him and ended up putting out a fire that had started in a trash can when old fireworks were left smoldering. The trash can was right next to a full gas can, propane tank, and several cars, which would have all blown up had Parris not happened to go out looking for Jordan. He ended up saving the lives of the entire family). We also got to hear stories of some of the weird things some of the Egbert boys eat on their missions, and learn a few words in different Asian languages. Sure was a fun night. Adam and I ended up going back to our camp around 11 and going straight to bed.
