Packing up, Moving out, & East Side of Zions

After Zions we headed back to the condo for naps, movies, and some much needed down time. That evening the Jurgens made us some yummy hamburgers for dinner and then after the kids were in bed all us adults went hot tubbing under the stars. Boy was that fun!

In the morning we had a nice breakfast and then it was time to start packing up and cleaning the condo. But even that was pretty easy. All we had to do was strip the beds, start the dishwasher, and then get a load of laundry going. The kids were a big help too and after getting their room all done they decided it would be fun to ride some of the mini mattresses down the stairs! This ended up being a big hit, and although I have no pictures of it. Joey and Missy have some good footage of it out on You Tube! ha ha! The kids also got some last minute gaming and playing in as well before taking off. Here you can see Ady and Henry playing pool, and then down below you can see Joey and the kids having a water fight with the hose!

We lucked out and were able to convince not only the Jurgens, but the Ashby’s as well, to make a detour on their way home and come with us to Bryce Canyon. Adam and I had talked about it and last minute decided to stay one or two more nights (since the kids had the whole week off school) and thought we’d try to see Bryce and Capital Reef while we were already down that way. I have been to both parks in the past, but only the overlooks and have always wanted to explore them further. And it had been years since Adam had been and the kids had never seen it. So it seemed a great time to go!
In order to get there though we had to drive through Zions one more time. This ended up being my favorite part of the drive though because I don’t think I’ve ever been all the way through the East side. It was pretty dang awesome! We saw Mountain goats, and lots of really grand and unique structures!

I don’t remember what this one is called. But I remembered coming here as a kid, and kept describing it to Adam as the Elephant skin hill. 🙂 ha ha! I think I also said it looked like a game of checkers.

Loved seeing this awesome scenery! Up next, Bryce Canyon! Woot!
