Indiana Sand dunes, Chicago, & Boat ride

After checking out of our Airbnb in South Bend in the morning, we headed North to the Indiana Sand Dunes to see West beach. It was cold and cloudy when we first arrived, but the sun came out about 20 minutes later which was Heavenly! The kids had fun making sand castles and jumping waves and then we had a picnic lunch together before heading out.

From there we went to Chicago to see the famous “bean” but decided to just do a drive by since we had a long travel day and parking was hard to find, but what a fun city!

We had to laugh when Google maps didn’t know how to get us out of the city for awhile due to the different levels and streets being above each other, 😂 but we eventually got it figured out. 🤪

Our final destination was to Macomb Illinois which took us about 5.5 hours to get to with our different stops along the way. Adam found an old farm house to rent on a lake and I was able to cook us a homemade meal for the first time in weeks! (Alfredo, salad, broccoli,

& plums, with root beer floats for dessert).

We then played a fun game of kickball out on the property’s big open field.

Adam got a call from the owner of our Airbnb later and he generously offered to let us take his golf cart for a spin, AND hooked us up with a free sunset cruise on a pontoon boat! It seriously was the amazing and the sweetest gift. Definitely the highlight of the day for sure! We were sad we were only staying one night! It was seriously the funnest place! ❤️
