I ended up needing to head back to the car to pump a bottle, and convinced Dawson to be my buddy (by bribing him with a piece of candy. ha!) So he and I took off a bit early from the waterfall while Adam stayed to look around a little more with Jamis, Brans, Harry, & Ady. Then we headed back to the town of Waterton to pick up our trailer and head North towards Calgary.
We ended up stopping in a little town called Clairsmore for dinner (at a cute diner) where Adam and I split a rack of ribs, and the kids all got kids meals, and then we got a car wash and drove the rest of the way towards Banff. We had hoped to find a hotel or homestay to crash at for the night (we desperately needed to do laundry) and Adam tried booking multiple places, but because of the late hour, we weren’t able to find anything available, darn it all. Luckily Adam did find a campground just outside of Banff though, so booked a few nights there, but if I remember right, we didn’t pull in until just before midnight! Yikes! But it DID have a laundry facility which was what we needed and the campsites were actually really nice. So we were happy!
As we drove up to Banff a storm came through and I thought it was so cool because the clouds were literally BLUE in color. I had never seen that phenomena before, and I was just in awe with it, and couldn’t help but snap a few pictures. Isn’t that crazy? So so pretty!
After setting up camp, we went straight to bed and then planned to have a lazy morning the following day and make a nice breakfast and catch up on laundry, but when Adam woke up and saw how close we were to the beautiful Banff mountains, he changed his mind and wanted to get on the road right away so that we could spend as much time in Banff as possible! ha ha. But we did manage to get a few loads of laundry washed and put in the dryer before it was time to head out! 🙂 Below are some of the mountains we woke up to.
