Shortly after Adam left for Alaska, I got an email from my Mom letting us know they would be down in Mount Pleasant at their RV park if any of us wanted to come down and visit. I didn’t dare try to camp with the kids, but figured it would be fun to spend the day with Nana and Papa, especially considering it was only just over an hour away.
So on Monday July 20th we got our jobs done at home, made a quick stop to Wendy’s for lunch, and then headed out to Mount Pleasant. It was actually pretty wet and drizzly all day, but we still had a nice time playing games in my parents RV, taking walks around the park looking for carved animals on a scavenger hunt, and then taking a hike up to a look out point! We sure do love visiting Nana and Papa!
While on the scavenger hunt we were able to discover this birds next with 4 baby birds peeking out looking for their Mamma.
Perfect picture bench – but after I took this picture each of the kids wanted to take a turn with the camera taking their own picture! Silly kids!

Then the scavenger hunt resumed! The kids were able to find all 20-30 animals with the help of the Camp host who lived in the main lodge.
Then we were off to explore on a quick hike up the mountain.
There is a story behind this picture. On one of our Wedge trips a couple years ago we were out hiking and my Mom (Nana) noticed Harry’s shoes were untied and told him about it and he immediately dropped right where he was to tie them. Unfortunately he landed himself right in the middle of a cacti patch and we ended up spending the next hour picking needles out of his pants and then bum! Poor fella. So now pretty much EVERY TIME any of us see a Cactus we tease Harry by saying something like, “Hey Harry, I found a good Cactus you can sit on if you are tired.” ha ha. So here is our picture of the kids attempting to “sit on the Cacti!”
We hiked up a ridge and enjoyed a panorama view of the valley.
We ended our fun day by eating yummy kilbasa and veggies tinfoil dinners with green jello salad for dessert. We sure do love any chance we get to spend with Nana and Papa! Love you guys so much!
