One of the places we’ve wanted to go to, and tried to go to TWICE since we’ve been in India, is Cubbon Park. Its a huge park with lots of gardens and fun things for the kids to do, so we were glad when we were finally able to make our day at Cubbon happen. Although we didn’t make it out to see the “garden area” of the park, we sure had fun in the kids area and had fun riding on a train, going on a few rides, and playing at the many different pkaygrounds! Below are a few pics from our day.
Waiting in line by the ticket counter to ride a roller coaster
Staying very CLOSE to Daddy so nobody can pinch her cheeks or pick her up for a picture! ha!
Cubbon Park Train Ride!
Some of the sights from the train ride.
After getting off the train our driver Naveen introduced us to 3 blind men who he met while he was waiting for us who are trying to get a foundation set up to help other blind people. They were wanting to get permission to host a big event at the park with games and contests to bring about some awareness of their foundation and possibly do some fundraising? We weren’t sure, but in any case Adam ended up going with them to the main office to inquire on the matter and to help guide them to where they needed to go. It ended up that they would need to pay the equivalent of $300 American dollars in Rupees to even have the event. Yikes. We are hoping to help them find another alternative location thats not so expensive and to find out what they hope to gain by having the event. We applaud what they are trying to do, but we think they may need some help coming up with an actual business plan to make whatever event they want to have a success. We don’t want them spending a bunch of money they don’t have only to find out that their event did nothing to help move their cause forward. I think our two business degrees could possibly help them with this. đ
While Adam was helping the 3 blind men, the kids and I went on a few rides. All the kids loved this one and even got brave enough to put their arms up in the air.
Then we hit up the parks! They had 4 or 5 different areas with different kinds of equipment so it was fun!
The climbing structures seemed to be the favorite for all the boys. Go figure!
We sure do love spending time together as a family and are enjoying discovering all these awesome places in India! What an amazing adventure it is to be here.
