Unfortunately though Adam and Umakant ended up getting stuck at work in an important meeting for much longer than anticipated and weren’t able to meet up with us until just before we needed to leave for the airport. The kids and I sat and waited for probably 1.5 or 2 hours for them to show up and had eaten, played with balloons (that the waiters were kind enough to bring out) and danced to the fun American music while we waited, but in the end we only got a few precious minutes with our friends. đ Which we were so sad about, but what can ya do?
We truly were so blessed to have such amazing friends though and I just couldn’t end this post without giving a little shout out to Umakant though for all he did for us – because he really was just so awesome to our family during our stay in India and went way above and beyond the call of duty to help us feel welcome, loved, and taken care of. From inviting us to just about EVERY work function (we noticed we were usually the only FAMILY attending all the parties, lunches, dinners, and even off site events like the resort get-away) to helping us figure out fun things to do while in India and loaning us his books, to making sure all our kids had food to eat and drinks at every work function, to helping us find apartments and giving us recommendations of places to eat. Umakant just always was there to help us and we just really appreciated his extra efforts in our behalf. What a wonderful gift it was to be able to get to know him and his beautiful family better! Thank you Umakant!!!
