Right after going to the black sand beach near our hostel we loaded up in a taxi to head out to the guest house with A/C that Adam had gotten us into! Score! Although it wasn’t anything fancy, it had A/C and that is all any of us cared about. Man what a difference A/C makes on hot humid days! We felt all of our moods lift considerably.
Right after arriving, we had a bit of excitement though when Harry lost his first tooth! You can’t tell from these pictures, but he was just about the happiest kid you ever did see! (Its hard to smile and show a lost tooth at the same time apparently. ha ha!) But Harry was ecstatic about finally losing a tooth! He just felt so grown up. He was also super excited to have lost his tooth in Sri Lanka! Cause how many American kids can say that? Pretty cool!
He did have a bit of a conundrum though when he couldn’t decide if he wanted the tooth fairy to bring him a Sri Lanka dollar, or an American dollar! Lucky for him though, she brought him both! She even did the exchange rate for him and left him the equivalent of $1 in American – only it was $1.25 in Sri Lankan money. Needless to say, Harry was pretty excited! Pretty big milestone for this little guy! Congrats Harry!
Isn’t Sri Lankan money beautiful? We loved how all the bills were not only a different color, but a different size as well. It made it so easy to pull the right bill out of your purse when paying for things! Genius!
