Angra Garden Picnic Breakfast – Terceira Azores

After our tasty Azorean dinner Thursday evening, we ended up going back to the hotel where Adam attempted to continue working, but the internet wasn’t working in our room so he ended up going downstairs to the lobby. I stayed upstairs and unpacked a little and then watched some TV until I decided I’d better head to bed (It was midnight Azorean time but only 6pm Utah time). Then Adam came to bed around 2am.
We must have been super duper tired from all that traveling because the next day we didn’t wake up until NOON! Seriously, Adam and I could not believe it. We were both teenagers the last time we slept that long! But we literally hadn’t even stirred. We were completely zonked!
Unfortunately our late sleep in meant that we completely missed our free hotel breakfast, so we ended up having to walk around the city to try to find someplace to eat. We settled on just getting some rolls, cheese, and juice at a market and then eating it in the park! We loved getting to see more of the city in the day time!
Check out these Aloe Vera plants! I’d never seen Aloe Vera full grown like this and was fascinated by how the locals used it as a shrubbery of sorts along their homes and streets. So cool!

More beautifully colored homes, churches, and shops!

The name of our Hotel on Terceira island was the Angra Garden Hotel. That was mostly because the back of the hotel was home to one of Angra’s most beautiful gardens and parks! We got to look out at this thing from our hotel window everyday! It was also a fun place to eat some Azorean breaksfast! 😉
Adam with his “stinky” cheese! I wouldn’t let him eat this anywhere near me after the first day! ha!

We quickly became popular with the pigeons who loved eating our bread crumbs!

Some even got brave later on and started hopping up on my legs and arms to get food. Adam has an awesome video of me with the birds where they are all over me. It was pretty fun!

After breakfast we took a stroll through the park. It was much bigger than it seemed from our bedroom window.

See the building in the back? That was our hotel!
