Tree Arch Beach Hike – Terceira Azores

After our time spent up in the mountains we still had some time to kill and so we decided to head back over to the North side of the island to explore a few more places we had missed the day before. We ended up just taking every road we could find that looked like it led down to the water and low and behold we discovered a hidden gem. A hike that took you from a dirt road down through a long tunnel of trees that made an arch, (Adam called it a hobbit hole), next to a few farms, and through lots of bushes and finally ended on another rocky beach! It ended up being our favorite stop of the day! Both Adam and I were in heaven! I also remember taking the below shot and how Adam and I both thought the scene looked like something out of National geographic. But when we shot it with his iphone and my camera the picture came out completely back lighted and dark and looked nothing like what our eyes were seeing. But it really was magnificent the way the light was hitting the fields and water, and the image at least still exists in my head even if my camera didn’t capture it.

Then after that hike we booked it down the shoreline to try to go and see one last place before the sun went down. Here are a few pictures we took along the way.
