The second day of our time in Banff landed on Thursday, August 6th and unfortunately rained on and off almost the entire day. Luckily we still go to do MOST of what we had hoped for, but did have to forego a few things due to the bad weather. Our biggest disappointment was just not getting to see how massive the mountains were that we were driving through since the tops of a lot of them were covered by clouds. Still, the drive from Banff to Jasper on the Icefield Parkway was absolutely breathtaking gorgeous. I wish my pictures did the place justice, but unfortunately most were taken through a window or at high speeds making the quality not so great or the picture slightly blurry, but they help me to remember this amazing place so hopefully you can bare with me. We sure did love this day though and just couldn’t believe the views at every turn. The mountains just never seemed to end, which we absolutely loved! Such an incredible place!
Leaving the town of Banff to head North to Jasper National Park
Amazing Glacier Mountains!
Check out the color of this river. Can you see how it starts out as yellow and then turns blue? Such a strange phenomena!
Hector Lake
I had to snap a picture of our set up during our three week trip. We ended up getting a big luggage bag for the top of our van where we mostly stored pillows, towels, bedding, coats. and life jackets (soft stuff) and then we put our hard suitcases in the front part of our tent trailer. The back of our van held all our food which we needed to store in a hard container due to us being in Bear country and so it worked best just to keep it in the van with us – instead of moving it back and forth each night. It ended up working really well and by the end of the trip we had packing and unpacking down to a science!
Amazing Isn’t it? God sure is an incredible artist!
